🌲 Residenza Khaddiuggia, managed by nearly octogenarian Manila Foresti Sancinelli, is the first Italian enterprise to join the Top 100 Stories list from Green Destinations. The competition showcases 100 exemplary destinations and businesses addressing environmental, social, and economic challenges to promote responsible travel experiences. Residenza Khaddiuggia, located on the island of Pantelleria, achieved second-level (Silver) certification and has been recognized for its innovative, original, and replicable model of eco-friendly hospitality. The business stood out for involving local producers and guests in a network that fosters both a circular economy and more humane, empathetic tourism, as well as intergenerational collaboration with IATH Academy Lake Como students. Concetta D’Emma, Italy's Green Destinations representative, played a key role in this achievement, promoting Italian tourism stories of passion, sacrifice, and resilience.

🏢 Space Hotels, founded in 1974, currently features over 45 independent 3- and 4-star hotels in 30 of Italy's most beautiful destinations. Newly appointed president Beniamino Tomasoni aims to expand into provincial capitals and art cities, emphasizing a hybrid model combining independence and quality for these hotels. The group emphasizes sustainability, inclusion, and technological advancements to optimize operations without compromising personal hospitality. Space Hotels will be at the World Travel Market in London from November 5-7, stand N3-200.

🎬 Alberto Gutierrez, CEO of Civitatis, projects Italian customers to grow from over 300,000 in 2023 to about 600,000 by the end of 2024, aiming for 1.2 million the following year. Madrid-based Civitatis, founded in 2008, offers 4,000 destinations and nearly 90,000 activities in more than 160 countries, serving 30 million customers. Italy is the fourth market after Spain, Mexico, and Brazil, with over 5,000 activities in 437 localities. A promotional offer for Italian agencies runs until December 15, offering a 15% commission on bookings for New York. Civitatis plans a 5-year investment in Italy, seeking to expand collaborations and build a larger Italian market team, including hiring a country manager.

🇮🇹 Formentera, managed by tourism promotion manager Leonardo Metastasio, draws Italians as its primary market after Spain. From May to September 2024, the Balearic island welcomed 476,270 visitors, with Italians accounting for 24.23%. Overnight stays rose by 4.11% to 157,202 from the previous year's 150,993. Formentera aims to promote astrotourism, events, and local gastronomy aligned with its commitment to sustainability.

🏡 Italian Minister of Tourism Daniela Santanchè inaugurated the "Campus Enrico Mattei" in Hurghada, Egypt, on October 24, within the framework of the Mattei Plan for Africa initiated by the Italian government and in collaboration with various Italian and Egyptian public and private entities. The project aims to enhance the local and international tourism sector by training highly skilled professionals, with 100 students enrolled for over 600 hours of theoretical/practical training. The initiative focuses on managerial skills, operational excellence, innovation, sustainability, and regulatory compliance, with specializations in Food & Beverage and guest experience management. The school symbolizes Italy's commitment to exporting successful training models and fostering sustainable development and international cooperation.

🏠 In Italy, 43,757 historical homes have been cataloged, with 44% being palaces, nearly 30% villas, and 11% castles. A notable 82% of these are family-owned, and 68% are partially or fully inhabited. Commercial use accounts for 44%, including 50% as accommodations and 4% as restaurants or retail. Events take up 17%, with private celebrations making up 58%, corporate events 33%, and school activities 15%. One in four events relates to cinema, and 10% of the homes are tied to agri-food sectors, with 34% of wineries linked to a historic dwelling.

Their system allows remote monitoring and management of air conditioning and heating systems, synced with the reservation calendar, to limit energy waste. The presence and motion sensors automatically deactivate appliances when rooms are empty, while the Card System controls energy consumption intelligently. These measures aim for sustainable management and energy savings, enhancing guest experience with maintained comfort standards.

🌟 The 2024 Hotel trade fair in Bolzano, held from October 21-24, showcased sustainable innovation in food, design, technology, and hospitality. Seventy entries vied for awards in categories like Sustainable Food & Drink, won by Pasticceria Giotto's Panettone involving 38 inmates in its production. Circular Product Design's top prize went to Steva Hemp's 100% hemp bed linen, while Gastrofresh's reusable, collapsible crates for produce won Sustainable Technology. The Cyprianerhof Dolomit Resort topped the Sustainable Tourism Pioneers 360°, recognized for its energy self-sufficiency and commitment to regional products.

Chub Cay Resort in the Bahamas, focused on energy efficiency, uses Airzone to cut diesel generator use by adapting room temperatures to occupancy. The Clock House in Malaga offers guests personalized temperature control via an app. Cuber Suites in the Netherlands integrates Airzone with advanced Building Management Systems (BMS) for autonomous guest temperature regulation, optimizing energy use and reducing staff needs. These cases highlight Airzone's ability to meet the increasing demands for comfort and sustainability in modern hospitality.
