🍕 Michele Pascarella, a pizzaiolo from Maddaloni (Caserta), started his pizza journey at 11 years old. In London, over ten years ago, he began with an Ape Car food truck, leading to "Napoli on the Road", which now has two locations in Chiswick and Richmond. In 2023, he was named "Best Pizzaiolo in the World" by 50 Top Pizza, and at peak popularity, received 2,500 to 3,000 daily reservation requests. His pizza "Ricordi di infanzia" combines tradition and innovation. In 2024, "Napoli on the Road" earned the title of Best Pizzeria in Europe from 50 Top Pizza.

Vino e sostenibilità: la Puglia pioniera dell'agrivoltaico

🌾 At Vinitaly, a successful conference on agrivoltaics in viticulture highlighted the potential of combining agriculture and photovoltaics. Moderated by Davide Gangi, the event featured experts including Donato Pentassuglia and Professor Maurizio Boselli, who pioneered agrivoltaic research since 2009 in Valpolicella. Boselli's work, internationally recognized, showed slower grape maturation and improved sugar-acid balance due to panel shading. Pasquale Venerito noted distinctive characteristics in agrivoltaically-grown grapes, such as lower pH and complex aromatics. Franco Dell’Acqua discussed agrivoltaics' benefits for Puglia's agriculture, including water savings. Nicola Mele, co-founder of Vigna Agrivoltaica di Comunità, aims to produce eco-friendly wine and energy. The 12-hectare project will produce 5,000-20,000 bottles by 2025, involving universities and research centers.

Roma accoglie il sogno dell'ospitalità di lusso: apre il primo hotel Orient Express al mondo

🏡 In Rome, the Orient Express La Minerva hotel opened on April 7, 2025, as the first hotel globally to carry the name of the luxury railway company. Housed in a 17th-century building at Piazza della Minerva 69, it was restored by architect Hugo Toro. With 93 rooms, including 36 suites ranging from 25 to 235 sqm, the hotel offers luxury accommodations with a nod to the golden age of travel, featuring custom trunks and woodwork reminiscent of the legendary train's carriages. The Stendhal Suite pays homage to the French writer, one of the hotel’s notable past guests. Orient Express La Minerva features three exceptional dining experiences and five event spaces, including the Sala Olimpo (165 sqm) with Rinaldo Rinaldi's marble sculptures. The hotel's gastronomy includes the La Minerva Bar, Gigi Rigolatto restaurant opening in May 2025, and the award-winning Mimi Kakushi, expected by the year's end. The expansion of the Orient Express brand includes future venues like the Orient Express Palazzo Donà Giovannelli in Venice and the La Dolce Vita Orient Express train, followed by the sailing yacht Orient Express Corinthian in 2026.
