Cantine dell’Angelo e il Greco di Tufo figlio delle Miniere

🍷 Tufo, with its volcanic soil and minerally rich clay and limestone, experienced a transition from sulfur mining in the late 19th century to agriculture, reviving viticulture as a central component of its economy. The Greco di Tufo grape, achieving DOC in the 1970s and DOCG in 2003, symbolizes the region's resilience. The Muto family, led by Angelo Muto, represents three generations of winemakers. Angelo's stewardship respects biodiversity and nature, employing manual harvesting and stainless steel vinification. Cantine dell'Angelo produces 25,000 bottles annually, with its Greco di Tufo Miniere and Greco di Tufo Torre Favale embodying the area's distinctive character. After over a decade, they also reintroduced the Coda di Volpe grape in 2013.
