Giovani e vino: un focus UIV&Vinitaly sfata i falsi miti
🍷 Young adults (under 44) in the U.S. make up 47% of wine consumers, despite being only a third of the adult population. In Italy, they represent 35% of wine consumers, matching their percentage in the population. Generations over 44 show a 30% decrease in red wine consumption in both Italy and the U.S., while 31% of young Americans and 14% of young Italians report increased consumption. Americans under 44 who drink more than two glasses account for 80%, compared to 72% of older adults; in Italy, it's 70% of young drinkers vs. 68% of older ones. Young consumers spend more on wine, with 60% of Ultra Premium consumption in the U.S. and half in Italy attributed to them. Periods of temporary abstinence from drinking are more common among young Italians (over 25%) and Americans (50%). The wine industry faces challenges understanding young consumers, though Millennials and Gen Z show active participation in the market.
