Global Blue, cresce la spesa premium e lifestyle

🤑 During 2019-2024, Tax Free Shopping increased by 8.5%, and Luxury Shopping grew by 5%. Stefano Rizzi and Denise Bolandrina from Global Blue noted that the rebound in travel led to increased personal spending. Despite inflation, 46% of high spenders felt unaffected due to Tax Free Shopping benefits. Europe saw a consistent 16% growth, while the Asia Pacific spiked by 127% in H1 compared to 2019. Italy, the top European shopping destination in 2024, experienced a 15% increase in Tax Free expenditure, attracting 25% American and 10% Arab shoppers. Ready-to-wear dominated with a 34% share, a 12% growth, and an average spend of €1,200, while watches surged by 32%. Tax Free Shopping is evolving towards a diverse spend, now including luxury, premium, and lifestyle brands, up by 39%.

Retroscena: Ita Airways e l’incontro milanese con l’industria del turismo

🏩 Joerg Eberhart, CEO of Ita Airways, met with market enterprises in Milan, demonstrating openness for dialogue and confirming the airline's commitment to maintaining "an Italian identity." Eberhart, along with CCO Emiliana Limosani, discussed the potential of Rome Fiumicino as a major hub and expressed intentions to expand long-haul connections, possibly from Fiumicino, and increase domestic flights, especially towards the islands. Gemellaggio Petra-Colosseo: al via la collaborazione

????️ Petra's Authority for Development and Tourism and the Colosseum Archaeological Park announced a partnership to enhance links between two world-renowned archaeological sites, both UNESCO World Heritage sites and named among the New Seven Wonders of the World in 2007. Italian Culture Minister Alessandro Giuli emphasized the strategic value of this initiative for cultural promotion and international cooperation. The agreement includes cultural, scientific, and promotional collaborations, such as conservation workshops, joint cultural events, reciprocal visits, and the sharing of promotional materials. Petra can now promote itself within the Colosseum, which attracts approximately 14 million visitors annually. Fares Braizat, Petra's development chief, and Alfonsina Russo, director of the Colosseum Park, both affirm the partnership as a step towards cultural exchange and enhancing global presence. This follows Petra’s 2019 twinning with Matera, the European Capital of Culture for that year.

Norwegian Aqua: Ncl vira sull’offerta di livello superiore

🚢 Norwegian Aqua, 10% bigger than Norwegian Prima and Viva, is set for its official christening in Miami on April 13. It can accommodate 3,571 passengers, featuring unique experiences like the world's first hybrid roller coaster with a water slide, Aqua Slidecoaster, and the multifunctional Aqua Game Zone with immersive games and VR. The ship boasts the largest 360-degree outdoor promenade, Ocean Boulevard, and The Haven, an exclusive luxury area with 123 suites including the new Duplex Haven Suites. The Haven also provides a private terrace with an infinity pool, two hot tubs, outdoor spa, private lounge, plus a dedicated restaurant and bar.

La Sicilia taglia la tassa d’imbarco negli scali minori

✈ Ryanair, after a two-year request, sees Sicilia partially reduce the boarding tax at minor airports: Lampedusa, Pantelleria, Comiso, and Trapani Birgi, while Palermo and Catania remain unchanged. Airgest's president, Salvatore Ombra, applauds the strategic decision, enhancing competitiveness without affecting major airports. The measure involves about €6.5 million, planned in the financial maneuver between June and July. The cut is compensated in the budget, favoring all airlines at minor airports. Ryanair, however, sought the tax's elimination in all airports, which would cost municipalities €80 million, compared to the manageable impact of the current reduction.
