  • 8 Luglio 2024
💍 Honey moon trips have evolved over a decade: shorter stays, luxury accommodations, and experiential travel are the new norm. Sea destinations feature in only 67% of trips, as couples often combine discovery with beach stays. The core age group is 25-39 years (73%), followed by 40-59 (22%) and over 59 (5%). Couples may travel with children (8%) or friends (5%). Top destinations include Asia (38%), Africa (21%), and North America (15%), with Italy favoring long-haul North American trips. Europe (10%) sees Iceland as a newcomer, while the Middle East (6%), led by Jordan's rise in 2023, and specifically Japan, show significant growth. Oceania accounts for 5%, Central America for 3%, and all of South America for 2%. Departures often occur weeks or months post-wedding, leading to winter trips to South America. Average spending has increased by 2% since 2023, with bookings made up to six months in advance. In early 2024, the United States, Peru, and Tanzania with Zanzibar are the leading destinations. • 8 Luglio 2024
🏖️ Travelers prefer using their own tents or campers during the low season from March to May and September to November, according to Garden Sharing. Reservations on Garden Sharing for the first six months of 2024, with the latest check-ins in August, indicate summer isn't as crucial for outdoor demand. The most sought-after experiences include meals, farm stays, wineries, natural oases, wellness, and pet-friendly options. Tuscany (18.8%), Emilia Romagna (17.6%), and Sardinia (10.6%) are favorite destinations for Italian open-air tourists, while Tuscany (29%), Veneto (15.3%), and Emilia Romagna (11.5%) top the list for foreigners. Reservations for August show Sardinia leading among outdoor travelers followed by Puglia, Veneto, and Tuscania, with foreign tourists favoring southern regions (Campania, Basilicata, Calabria) mainly from Germany (19.7%), France (16.9%), with lesser percentages from Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Great Britain. Couples and families dominate, with bookings for 2 to 4 people at 60%, but solo travelers and groups over five, including large families and organizations, are on the rise.

Banca d’Italia: il turismo ha tenuto in piedi l’economia di Roma

  • l.alese@federturismo.it Laura Alese - Federturismo Confindus
  • 24 Giugno 2024
Tourist numbers in Rome's center have boosted the local economy in 2023, aided by Jubilee and Pnrr project funds, with a surge in short-term rentals and B&Bs which now account for half the city's beds. Rome is approaching Venice with a 7.8% share of national tourist presence, and a 25% growth in tourism last year has helped the Lazio region match the national GDP growth rate, despite the industry and export slowdown. The EU has allocated €10.3 billion to Lazio's public entities, with €900 million in projects started by February, and a 10% completion rate, double the national average.
