Sciopero e incendio a Ciampino: disagi per chi deve volare

Additionally, a fire at Ciampino Airport's control tower technical room caused no damage to equipment, but air traffic controllers evacuated due to smoke. Ferrovia Retica promuove la tratta dell’Albula

🏤 Ferrovia Retica promotes the Albula railway line as an alternative to the crowded Bernina line, connecting Chur, Switzerland's oldest city, to St. Moritz. Starting June 2025, a new tourism offering, Landwasserwelt, will launch, featuring a train ride, museum, affiliate hotels and restaurants, farm visits, mountain lifts, and a rubber-tired train to view the Landwasser viaduct. The Albula line is increasingly popular with families and groups, offering more carriages than the Bernina due to gentler slopes.

Caramanna: “Lotta dura all’abusivismo”

He emphasized the past neglect and crucial role of travel agents, particularly during the pandemic when they provided greater support to travelers compared to those who booked independently. Caramanna stressed the need for combating unauthorized travel organization, the regulation of technical directors, and updating norms on travel packages to better protect travel agents, asserting the government's and Parliament's commitment to supporting tourism growth and recognizing the strategic role of travel professionals.

Turismo, si conclude missione Santanchè in Arabia Saudita: “Importante aprirsi a nuovi mercati ricchi di potenzialità”

🏖️ Italian Tourism Minister Daniela Santanchè concluded her mission to Saudi Arabia which began on January 27 with the inauguration of the Italian Village in Jeddah, marking the Amerigo Vespucci sailboat's first visit to Saudi Arabia in its 93-year history. In Riyadh, she met with Saudi counterpart Ahmed Al Khateeb, and in Jeddah, she participated in events focusing on inclusion and promoting Italian tourism, including the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics 2026. In 2023, over 200,000 Saudi travelers visited Italy, with 78% for personal reasons and 22% for business. The initiative aims to enhance diplomatic relations and attract more Saudi tourists to Italy.

Cruise lines anticipate accommodating 30 million senior passengers by 2030, necessitating expanded services and tailored experiences to meet the demands of this demographic.

IATA: numeri record per il 2024, con una crescita del 13,6% del traffico internazionale

📈 In 2024, travel demand surged by 10.4% compared to the previous year, with international traffic up 13.6% and domestic traffic increasing by 5.7%. Total capacity, measured in available seat kilometers (ASK), rose by 8.7%, with an 83.5% overall load factor, setting a new annual record. Despite this growth, Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) accounted for less than 0.5% of fuel needs, highlighting the challenge of reducing costs and increasing supply to meet the airline industry's goal of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Looking ahead, travel demand in 2025 is projected to grow at a moderated pace of 8%.

🚧 On February 5, a national strike will impact Italian air transport, with airport handling staff from Assohandlers and SEA Prime personnel in a stoppage. Trenord employees in Lombardy will strike for 23 hours. Other local strikes include railway staff in Sardinia on February 8, public transport in Palermo and Trenitalia in Piemonte and Valle d’Aosta on February 9, ATM in Milan on February 14, RFI staff in Trentino on February 15, and Gesap airport personnel in Palermo and Aviation Service at Venice airport for 24 hours on February 28.
