  • Tony Loeb
  • 4 Febbraio 2025
📍 Ryanair has launched new routes from its main base at London Stansted to Bodrum and Dalaman, marking its first venture into Turkey, traditionally dominated by easyJet. The flights began operating recently and will continue throughout the summer season. Notably, Ryanair will not fly to Antalya, Turkey's first destination. This expansion signals a change, as Ryanair had previously avoided tourist routes favored by easyJet and never served Switzerland, while easyJet has never flown to Ireland. Ryanair's routes already include destinations like Jordan and Israel, further afield than Turkey.

  • Tony Loeb
  • 4 Febbraio 2025
💸 The U.S. Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee approved the Hotel Fees Transparency Act, aiming for unified criteria in publishing lodging rates across the United States. Driven by the tourism industry's demand, the act targets 'junk fees' misleading customers about actual payable amounts. This legislation, supported by online giants like TripAdvisor, Expedia, Skyscanner, and Airbnb, seeks to establish a nationwide definition for the total price of services, harmonizing rate information that currently varies due to local state laws. The next step requires the consideration of the entire Senate.
