🏆 In the first half of 2024, Dubai International Airport reached a record milestone with 44.9 million transit passengers. By the end of August, tourist arrivals in Calabria are expected to increase by 4% compared to last year, potentially boosted by more low-cost airline flights to the region's three airports. 🏠 Eurostat reports a 28.3% increase in short-term online rental bookings in Europe for Q1 2024, with 123.7 million nights spent by tourists. Italy ranks third with 107 million nights in 2023. January 2024 saw 33.3 million nights (+16.7%), February 41.2 million (+19%), and March 49.2 million (+48%). Top destinations in 2023 were Andalusia (35.6M), Jadranska Hrvatska (32.6M), and Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (24.9M). Lazio leads five Italian regions in the top 20, with 14.4 million nights.

🏕 The US tourism industry soared from January to May 2024, raking in $104.9 billion from international tourist spending, marking a >17% increase from the previous year. Bounce's study ranked Royal Caribbean highest with a score of 9.32/10, leading in six out of seven variables, followed by MSC (8.80) and Carnival Cruise Line (8.04). 🏕️ Tour operator Viaggialdo doubled its full-year 2023 revenue in the first half of 2024, with an expected closing in December 2024 at around 3 million euros. Product manager Marco Ghidoni highlights the growth and market recognition. Viaggialdo will meet travel agencies on September 23 at Bergamo airport, an event with Ras Al-Khaimah tourism and Air Arabia, and schedule meetings in Naples and Bari with Agenzia per amica in October.
