Dai PIWI ai Super Olivi: il futuro è nelle piante resistenti al cambiamento climatico?

🌿 In Italy, 36 PIWI grape varieties, resistant to fungi and requiring fewer pesticides, are authorized in 10 regions. The Olive Hub project in Umbria is innovating in oliviculture by identifying 20 resistant cultivars out of 2700 seedlings and 1700 genotypes. These cultivars are water deficit tolerant, temperature resistant, and adapted to integrated mechanization, promising sustainable economic and environmental benefits. Prejudices and legislative gaps hinder the adoption of resistant plants, often confused with GMOs.

BWH Hotels Italia & Malta chiude il 2024 con un fatturato di 377 milioni

🏨 BWH Hotels Italia & Malta wrapped up 2024 with €377 million in B&B revenue, a 74% average annual occupancy rate, and a 3.8% increase in Average Daily Rate (ADR) across 170 properties. The ADR rose by up to 7.8% in Rome, with other cities also showing significant growth. Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR) increased by 2.7%, outperforming pre-pandemic levels by 34% for ADR and 38.5% for RevPAR. Key milestones included expansion to Malta with a 160-room hotel, the direct management of affiliated hotels via SIHO, the transformation into a Società Benefit, gender parity certification (UNI/PdR 125:2022), and 44 properties receiving ESG certifications. For 2025, bookings are already up by 10% for spring and summer, with a 3% higher ADR. The group is launching 42 renovation projects, enhancing 61 Property Management Systems, and adding 769 new rooms in destinations like Matera and Torri del Benaco.

Il nuovo contratto integrativo di Autogrill punta sul benessere dei lavoratori

🛠 Autogrill, a leader in travel dining and part of Avolta, along with its subsidiary Nuova Sidap, signed a new corporate collective agreement with National Secretaries of Trade Unions, effective from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2027. The agreement, approved by Workers' Assemblies after its proposal in December 2024, introduces economic changes like revising the performance bonus system. Over 9,000 employees benefit from improved work conditions, work-life balance, three-week work schedule programming, and enhanced paid breaks. Additional support includes caregiver leaves and broader reasons for advance TFR withdrawals. The agreement is in line with Avolta's sustainability framework and the wider "Destination 2027" strategy. Autogrill also focuses on gender equality, as shown by the UNI/PdR 125:2022 Gender Equality Certification, and promotes safe work environments with initiatives against harassment.
