The policy, enhanced by the latest budget law, increases the tax-free percentage from 25% to 30% and raises the income threshold for tax exemption from 50,000 to 75,000 euros. This initiative, stemming from the Meloni government, aims to boost the attractiveness of the tourism industry to workers by improving service conditions and competitiveness.

The meeting highlighted satisfaction with development contracts, strategic importance of tipping tax relief, and efforts regarding short-term rentals, with 80% issuance of BDSR and CIN, amounting to over 2000 registration requests daily. Italian tourism welcomed over 458.5 million overnight stays in 2024, marking a 2.5% increase from 2023.

IATA: a novembre i viaggi aerei crescono dell’8,1% rispetto allo stesso mese del 2023

📍 Iata released data showing an 8.1% increase in total demand measured in passenger-kilometers (Rpk) in November 2024 compared to November 2023. Total capacity, measured in available seat-kilometers (Ask), rose by 5.7% year-on-year, with a load factor of 83.4%, up by 1.9 percentage points (ppt) from November 2023, marking a historic high for November. International demand surged by 11.6% from November 2023, with capacity up by 8.6% and a load factor of 83.4%, 2.3 ppt higher than the previous year. European and Asia-Pacific carriers led the double-digit demand expansion. Domestic demand grew by 3.1% from November 2023, with a 1.5% increase in capacity and a load factor of 83.5%, up 1.2 ppt. There is a 2.4 ppt lag in capacity growth compared to demand, suggesting airlines are missing opportunities due to delayed aircraft deliveries.

Henley passport Index: Italia terza tra i paesi con i passaporti più potenti

📃 According to the 2025 Henley Passport Index, Singapore ranks first, allowing visa-free access to 195 out of 227 countries. Japan follows with 193 countries, while Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Finland, and South Korea tie for third with 192 destinations. European nations dominate the fourth spot, with Austria, Denmark, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden enabling entry to 191 countries. Belgium, Portugal, Switzerland, the UK, and New Zealand round out the top five with 190 countries. The US falls to ninth place, offering access to 186 destinations, a significant drop from its second-place rank in 2015. Afghanistan is at the bottom, as its passport allows visa-free travel to only 26 countries, followed by Syria and Iraq with 27 and 31 destinations, respectively. Passports from Yemen and Pakistan enable entry to 33 countries, and Somalia to 35.

In 2023, the short-term rental market contributed €57 billion to Italy's GDP, including €11 billion in GBV, €44 billion in related expenses, and €2 billion for property renovations. With only 503,000 out of 9.6 million secondary homes listed for short-term rental as of December 2024 (1.4% of national housing), the sector employs about 30,000 operators and indirectly supports 150,000 jobs. 96% of the listings are owned by individual proprietors, benefiting about 500,000 Italian families.

Ita Airways: dopo 10 anni riparte il Roma-Tripoli

Mandatory 5-hour theoretical courses and 5-hour practical sessions on boats over 5.90 meters with engines above 40 horsepower are required.
