  • Automatic
  • 16 Gennaio 2025
🍸 The Martini, a classic cocktail with an uncertain origin story, possibly evolved from the "Martinez" around 1874 in Martinez, California. It was first named "Martini" in Harry Johnson's 1888 bartender's manual. Frank P. Newman standardized the "Dry Martini" in 1904 with equal parts gin and dry vermouth, served with lemon, cherry, or olive. Variants like the Vesper Martini emerged, as mentioned in Ian Fleming's 1953 "Casino Royale." The International Bartenders Association's classic Martini recipe calls for 60 ml gin, 10 ml dry vermouth, and a lemon twist or olive garnish.
