🍷 Vito Intini, President of ONAV (Organizzazione Nazionale Assaggiatori di Vino), emphasizes the importance of drinking education in response to the new rules of the Road Code, suggesting that wine lovers learn without risking their license. ONAV promotes responsible drinking practices, such as scheduling early thematic evenings, serving less wine, and not concentrating tastings at the end of the session. ONAV's sections are equipped with breathalyzers for safety, and it advises organizing wine events in locations accessible by public transport or with shuttle services, and recommending moderation and shared driving responsibilities.

  • Redazione
  • 28 Gennaio 2025
🔫 Federvini and DISCUS urged to prevent the reintroduction of tariffs on spirits in transatlantic trade, highlighting the sector's support for 2 million jobs and a 450% growth from 1997 to 2018, reaching $200 billion. Imposed tariffs between 2018-2021 saw a 20% decrease in US whiskey exports to the EU and a 41% decrease in Italian liquor exports to the US. Without action, EU tariffs on US whiskey could increase to 50% from April 1, 2025, threatening the +60% recovery between 2021-2023. The US is the top market for Italian spirits, with a 13% share and a value of nearly €190 million from January-October 2023, up 7.4% from the previous year.
