  • Tony Loeb
  • 4 Marzo 2025
🏖️ Italy's beach establishments represent 40% of its tourism sector, with 6717 enterprises in 2024. 42% are located in the South and on islands, while Emilia Romagna, Tuscany, and Liguria lead with 14.2%, 12.8%, and 10.9% of businesses, respectively. One-third of the establishments cover up to 500 sqm, 30% up to 3000 sqm, and 4% exceed 10000 sqm. Predominantly managed by men (69%), aged 40-64 with high school diplomas. The industry employs around 67,000 workers, 48,000 full-time, averaging 7 employees per establishment. In 2023, Italian beach tourist arrivals surpassed 175 million, with domestic visitors slightly exceeding foreign visitors at 89 million versus 85 million. Revenue-wise, 68% of businesses earn up to €250,000 annually, 18.6% up to €500,000, 10% reach €1 million, and 3.4% exceed that. Over the past decade, investments have focused on services rather than infrastructure. Beach services account for 41% of total revenue, followed by bars (24%) and restaurants (20%), which also help extend the season from 6 to 8 months.

Imposta Municipale Unica: guida per gli host di case vacanze

  • Karina
  • 4 Marzo 2025
🏠 Imposta Municipale Unica (IMU), introduced in Italy in 2012, applies to second homes, commercial properties, and short-term holiday rentals. Calculation formula: IMU = (Cadastral Value × Coefficient) × Municipal Rate; example given with a luxury house in Rome, €2,752/year. From January 1, 2025, all holiday rentals require a National Identification Code (CIN) with fines from €500 to €5,000 for non-compliance. Certain cities limit short-term rentals to 120 days/year. Registration for CIN must be completed by January 1, 2025, and IMU payments can be deducted from taxes. Chekin offers automation tools for guest registration and legal compliance.

Guide turistiche, preoccupazione da ANGT

  • Tony Loeb
  • 4 Marzo 2025
🏛 ANGT expressed concerns about the guide qualification exam that closed on February 27 with 27,000 applicants. They fear less specialized preparation, only requiring a high school diploma rather than a bachelor's degree and a B2 level of English. The worry is that it will devalue the profession, produce underqualified guides, and flood the market, potentially leading to underpaid work through online platforms.
