International tourists, although only one-fifth of total visitors, account for half of the spending. Numbers are expected to drop from 11.2 million to 9.2 million visitors in NYC. Nationwide, international tourist spending in the U.S. will fall from $181 billion in 2024 to less than $169 billion in 2025.
