✈️ The global aeronautics industry in 2024 reported a 10% increase in traffic volume and revenue, with margins aligned with traffic data, according to AlixPartners. Challenges include delays in new aircraft deliveries and technical issues causing fleet groundings. Ticket prices in Europe and North America rose by 9% to 12% since 2019, amid cost inflation, high aviation fuel prices, and aircraft unavailability. Europe's low-cost market share hit 56%, while it declined in North America, South America, and Asia. Mergers and acquisitions in the sector dropped to €47 billion, a 46% decrease from the previous year and 69% below the 2019 peak. AlixPartners anticipates more aggressive private equity activity in 2024.
