🐟 In the EU, household spending on fishery products totaled €62.3 billion in 2023, with nearly €13 billion in Italy alone. Despite this, domestic consumption dropped by 5%, continuing a decline with a 14% decrease in 2022 from 2021 and an additional 12% in 2023. The EU's fish market imports reduced by 2% in value and 4% in volume, reaching 5.9 million tonnes. Meanwhile, per capita consumption of farmed fish hit a decade high at 6.82 kg, against wild fish products dropping to a 10-year low of 16.7 kg.
