Boeing verso l’accordo con i sindacati

  • Tony Loeb
  • 22 Ottobre 2024
✈ Boeing and its unions may reach a resolution tomorrow as over 30,000 workers vote on a proposed agreement featuring a 35% wage increase, bonuses, incentives, and enhanced pension contributions. The ongoing strike, lasting one and a half months, has cost Boeing approximately $2 billion, with the company facing $45 billion in debt. Despite the situation, Boeing plans to lay off 17,000 employees (10% of its workforce). Airbus also struggles, aiming to fulfill over 8,500 orders amid supply chain issues. Analysts reduced 2024 aircraft delivery estimates from 1,525 to just below 1,100, impacted by strikes and engine issues with Pratt & Whitney Gtf that require 300 days of downtime, potentially leading to higher ticket prices due to an aircraft shortage amidst rising demand.

🚘 Vehicle rentals in Italy faced a sharp decrease with a -21.9% drop in registrations in Q3, almost equally impacting long-term (-22.1%) and short-term (-19.9%) rentals. After nine months, the rental market for cars and commercial vehicles concluded with a -7% downturn, with passenger cars (Pc) down 13% and light commercial vehicles (Lcv) up 19.3%. Although the sector aligns with the overall car market, it contrasts with the 2023 record year boosted by delayed deliveries from 2021 and 2022. Short-term rentals grew significantly post-pandemic but slowed down, especially in Q3, yet maintained a 6.7% market share. Long-term rentals dropped to a 21.4% market share in 2024, bringing the rental sector's total market impact to 28.1%. For more information, visit www.aniasa.it.

💸 Following a software issue at Milan’s ENAV radar room affecting Northwest Italy's airports, normal operations resumed at Linate, Malpensa, Orio al Serio, Turin Caselle, and Genova. The malfunction slowed operations, as the backup system couldn't run at full capacity due to European safety regulations.
