Nella Manovra di Bilancio la Sugar Tax non slitta. L'allarme di Assobibe
🍭 Christmas 2024 could be tough for Italian soft drink producers due to the impending "Sugar tax" set for July 2025, increasing taxation by 28% on each liter of beverage, even sugar-free ones. ASSOBIBE foresees an investment drop of over €46 million, a raw material purchase decrease by over €400 million, and a 10% turnover cut, threatening 5,000 jobs. The tax, seen ineffective in reducing obesity, has been repealed in countries like Iceland (2000), Denmark (2016), Australia (2018), Norway (2021), and Israel (2022).
