Fiumicino led with over an 18% surge, while Malpensa stayed below 10%. 🏛 On October 31, at the Mediterranean Exchange of Archaeological Tourism in Paestum, a roundtable on "European funds for the enhancement of archaeological heritage and cultural tourism" was held, organized by the European Parliament Office Italy and the European Commission Representation in Italy with Civita Association. The meeting highlighted the European Union's various funding programs for Italy and the €4.2 billion from the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) allocated for cultural initiatives, of which €500 million is for digitization and €300 million for parks and historical gardens. To date, 30% of these resources have been spent, primarily by local authorities, with challenges in training implementing subjects. Discussion included decentralized tourism and destagionalization strategies, emphasizing the need for shared and respectful promotion and planning.

🌍 Millennials prefer Los Angeles and San Francisco for relaxing vacations in California. As of the first 8 months of 2024, Italian visitors to California numbered 173,300 with projections of 207,000 by year-end, a +101% increase from 2019. Estimates for 2025 are 225,000 and 253,000 by 2028. In 2023, Italy was 17.9% of global arrivals to California, ranking ninth globally and third in Europe. California promotes sustainability with electric vehicle road trips and focuses on luxury segment and food experiences. 41% of Italian tourists stay 4-7 nights, and 32% for 8-14 days. Direct flights in June 2024 had a seat capacity of 26,500, rising to 27,400 in July and August. The expected total expenditure by Italians in 2024 is $490 million (+102% from 2019), with forecasts of $551 million in 2025 and $652 million in 2028.

Ryanair, al via i collegamenti invernali da Venezia e Treviso

✈️ Ryanair launched its winter schedule from Treviso and Venice airports on October 27 with the Venice-Trapani route operating twice a week. Treviso airport offers seasonal flights to Lanzarote (weekly) and twice-weekly flights to Stockholm-Arlanda, Birmingham, Copenhagen, and Lisbon. Destinations from these airports also include Sicily, Portugal, and England.
