Ritardi e disagi in volo: la Ue rivede i risarcimenti

  • Tony Loeb
  • 17 Marzo 2025
💸 The European Union is revising compensation rules for flight delays, affecting passenger protections for delays over 3 hours, under regulation 261/2004. Compensation varies: €250 for flights up to 1500km, €400 for 1500-3500km, and €600 for longer distances. Flights must depart from or arrive in the EU (including Switzerland). Poland, as EU Council President, proposes extending compensation delay to 5 hours, and 12 hours for long-haul flights. Last year, 2% of flights qualified for €2 billion in total compensation. Consumer associations estimate that 85% of passengers currently eligible for compensation would lose that right under new rules due to most delays being under 5 hours.

Balneari, braccio di ferro con l’Ue sugli indennizzi

  • Tony Loeb
  • 11 Marzo 2025
🏖️ Italian Minister Matteo Salvini is negotiating with the EU on compensation for outgoing beach concessionaires, aiming for "real compensation, not handouts." The EU expressed concerns that high compensation could deter participants in future tenders, as stated by the Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW). The EU insists only assets strictly necessary for service provision be indemnifiable, excluding company value, goodwill, trademarks, and patents. All illegal structures, permanent fixtures (except those essential for service or difficult to remove), and investments in removable structures are also excluded from compensation calculations.
