✈ KLM Royal Dutch Airlines increases its presence at Milan Linate with a 5th daily frequency to Amsterdam starting March 30, during the summer operational program. Celebrating the 90-year anniversary of the Milan-Amsterdam route which first flew in May 1935. The summer program introduces the new Airbus A321neo to Rome on increasing frequencies. From 10 Italian airports, KLM will operate over 5,800 flights to Amsterdam Schiphol, connecting to 161 destinations during the summer schedule.

However, due to an additional municipal tax increase of €0.50 per passenger by the Italian government effective April 1, 2025, significant growth in Veneto is constrained. In contrast, Ryanair added 5 aircraft and $500 million investment in Abruzzo, Calabria, and Friuli-Venezia Giulia, following the tax's abolition there. 🛃 Southwest Airlines will end free checked luggage and introduce fees for flights booked starting May 28. Credit card co-brand holders and Rapid Rewards A-List members will still get one free checked bag, while A-List Preferred and Business Select fares will include two. Flight credits will expire one year from issuance for most fares and six months for the new Basic fare category starting May 28.
