💳 Since 2019, electronic invoicing has been mandatory in Italy for most businesses, including hotels, B&Bs, holiday homes, and guesthouses. The system operates through the "Sistema di Interscambio" (SDI), managed by the Agenzia delle Entrate. Chekin is launching its electronic invoicing feature for the Italian market in April, aimed at easing property managers' compliance with fiscal requirements. The invoicing process involves creating XML invoices, digitally signing them, sending them through SDI, and keeping them stored digitally for 10 years. Chekin's solution integrates with SDI, streamlining the entire billing cycle, offering real-time notifications, and reducing administrative expenses.

🍷 GenZ and Millennials are buoying the wine market in Italy and the USA, which together account for 60% of Italian wine sales revenue. The Osservatorio Uiv-Vinitaly revealed that consumers under 44 view wine as a status symbol and prefer premium labels, despite a fourth consecutive year of contraction in Italy and a third in the USA. In the USA, Status Seekers constitute 11% of regular consumers yet generate 24% of the volume and 35% of the sales value. Under 44s in America account for 10% of high-end wine purchases, and in Italy for half, while their loyalty to brands is lower. Millennials and GenZ represent 47% of wine consumers in the USA, defying assumptions they are more abstinent; in fact, young consumers are more likely to drink two or more glasses regularly. Contrary to belief, young Americans are increasing their wine consumption (31%) rather than decreasing it (26%), while in Italy, the trend is more even but young consumers still show a higher propensity to increase (14% vs. 7% for over 44s). The sober curious trend is strong among under 44s, with 60% of American GenZ and 46% of Italian GenZ open to temporary abstinence.

Made in Italy agroalimentare: export da record tra nuove sfide internazionali

📈 Italian agri-food exports hit a record €67 billion in 2024, up 8% from the previous year, outpacing Spain (+6%), Germany and China (+4%), the U.S. (+2%), and France (+0,4%). Leading products included olive oil (+44%), mineral water (+30%), and spices (+23%). Top growth markets were Poland (+19%), the U.S. (+18%), and Australia (+16%). The EU absorbed 55% of exports, with significant increases in non-EU Europe (+109%) and North America (+153%). The U.S. alone accounts for 14% of Italian agri-food exports, with products like mineral water (41%) and olive oil (32%) being highly dependent on the American market. The Consorzio Italia del Gusto represents 38 brands, with a combined turnover of €25 billion and 55,000 employees.

Angelo's stewardship respects biodiversity and nature, employing manual harvesting and stainless steel vinification. Cantine dell'Angelo produces 25,000 bottles annually, with its Greco di Tufo Miniere and Greco di Tufo Torre Favale embodying the area's distinctive character. After over a decade, they also reintroduced the Coda di Volpe grape in 2013.
