Turismo, Santanchè: “Fiera BIT vetrina d’eccellenza comparto prioritario per benessere Italia”

The third quarter saw a +7.7% rise in foreign tourist arrivals, peaking at 40 million in July. November recorded 17.5 million visits, up 11.66% from 2023, demonstrating successful off-season strategies.

🏖️ As of January 15, 2025, Italy has 6,600 tourism companies, an increase of 100 from the previous year, including 5,750 pure retailers, 593 operators, and 257 accommodation providers. The sector saw 1,000 closures in 2022, over 300 in 2023, but by 2024, a recovery began. Geographically, 47% are in the north, 21% south, 22% center, and 10% on major islands. Of the agencies, 4,500 are network affiliated, and 3,300 use GDS, with Sabre and Travelport leading over Amadeus.

Jfc: i benefici economici del Festival di Sanremo pari a 185milioni di euro

🎶 Over 6,750 tourists will visit Sanremo during the Festival starting on February 11, resulting in 34,646 total stays with an average duration of 5.1 nights. The Festival of Sanremo 2025 is projected to generate an economic impact of €184.1 million, with direct benefits estimated at €20 million, indirect benefits at €10 million, and induced benefits at nearly €7.8 million. Accommodation choices include 64.7% opting for hotels and 35.3% for non-hotel lodgings. Additional long-term benefits include €7.5 million for supply chain legacy, €43.5 million for brand enhancement, and €95.5 million for media ADV value. The local economy of Sanremo will receive 90.6% of the economic benefits, with 9.4% going to neighboring areas.

Companies have refined their talent search, resulting in 20.8% more CV downloads, totaling over 240,000, and a 20.6% reduction in database searches.

🍺 Carlsberg Group, operating in Italy with Birrificio Angelo Poretti since 1877, announced 2024 financial data with profits of 9.12 billion Danish kroner (€1.22 billion). Adjusted operating profit increased from 11.1 to 11.4 billion kroner and revenue improved by 2%, approximately 75 billion kroner. 🏖️ In 2025, two-thirds of Italians (65%) plan to travel, with 47% changing destinations yearly. Most preferred destinations: the sea (48%), itinerant travels (16%), mountains (12%), and cities of art (7%). A cultural trip is intended by 71% of those surveyed. Only 10% have booked in January 2025, but 74% will book later; Gen Z tends to book last minute (19%) or not at all (8%). Online bookings are at 65%. The average budget is 1,130 euros per person, with trips over 8 nights costing around 1,600 euros, and almost 1,900 euros for extra-European travels. 26% consider Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) options, with 43% of early bookers considering it, especially for high-value packages. Compass' marketing director Luigi Pace notes merchants using HeyLight, Compass' BNPL platform, report sales increase and higher average tickets.

???? The Central American Tourism Promotion Agency reaffirmed Italy as a key market for tourism experiences in Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, and the Dominican Republic. In 2023, visitors from six key European markets to Central America—Spain, Germany, the UK, France, Italy, and the Netherlands—totaled 1.733 million, accounting for a market share of 12-14%. In 2024, the region welcomed over 25 million visitors, an 11% increase from the previous year, including more than 170,000 travelers from Italy. Boris Iraheta, Secretary-General of CATA, highlighted the commitment to the Italian market and offering experiences that align with current travel trends. CATA plans to continue promoting the region through commercial partnerships and media relations into 2025.

Bahamas, nel 2024 record di visitatori internazionali

🏖️ The Bahamas welcomed over 11.22 million international visitors in 2024, surpassing the previous year's 9.65 million. Despite hurricanes Milton and Oscar, arrivals by air and sea increased by 16.2% over the prior year and 54.7% over 2019. Foreign air arrivals exceeded 1.7 million. December 2024 saw the highest ever monthly arrivals at 1.15 million, a 14% increase from 2023 and 62% from 2019. Grand Bahama Island saw an 8.7% increase in air arrivals, Abaco 11.9% over 2023. Tourism spending during 2023/2024 generated $654.8 million. Over $10 billion in foreign direct investments have contributed to the success, including brands like Rosewood and Four Seasons Residences.
