Il mercato degli aperitivi alcolici in Italia: verso una fase di normalizzazione

  • Tony Loeb
  • 6 Maggio 2025
🍹 YouGov research reflects a stabilization in Italian domestic consumption of alcoholic aperitifs post-pandemic. Premixed bottled aperitifs, the most significant segment, dropped to 13.1% from 13.5% in 2023. Spirits ready to drink/serve fell from 7.0% to 6.5%, single-dose alcoholic cocktails from 5.9% to 5.2%, and single-dose sodas from 2.7% to 2.3%. Despite market declines, single-dose formats like sodati aperitifs and pre-mix cocktails (e.g., Spritz) saw an increase in purchase frequency and average volume per purchase. High socio-economic classes mainly drive purchases, with Northern Italy showing higher penetration and the South, including Sicily, identified as growth potential areas. Young consumers prefer single-dose pre-mixed alcoholic cocktails, 35-64 age groups favor spirits ready to drink/serve, and over 65s are inclined towards niche single-dose sodas.

  • Tony Loeb
  • 6 Maggio 2025
📅 Sabre experienced a 3% drop in air bookings in the first quarter, contrasting with initial stability expectations. CEO Kurt Ekert cited a global weakness in bookings affecting both the corporate and leisure sectors. Notably, U.S. inbound travel from Canada and some European markets, as well as group bookings from Northern Asia, saw declines. U.S. military and government bookings plummeted by 30 percentage points due to Trump administration staff cuts. Despite this, Ekert expects single-digit booking growth in Q2 and a further increase by year-end due to new contracts.
