🚀 Emirates launched its Airbus A350 in recent days, beginning operations from Edinburgh to Dubai, then Kuwait and Bahrain on January 8th. The aircraft, first of 65 A350s to join the fleet, will connect Bologna, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Colombo, Lyon, and Muscat in the coming months. It features a new generation cabin design, enhanced passenger comfort, quality onboard service, fuel efficiency, and the quietest twin-aisle cabin. Economy Class offers new comfortable cabins, while Business and Premium Economy cabins are updated with 4K and 4K HDR touchscreens, higher ceilings, wider aisles, and faster Wi-Fi.

🎬 Cinecittà World in Rome celebrated the end of the 2024 season with a record attendance and a grand New Year's Eve party. CEO Stefano Cigarini announced Italy's biggest New Year's Eve party, featuring 40 attractions, 8 themed dinners, 10 live shows, concerts, DJ sets, and fireworks. The celebration included 10 music pavilions catering to all tastes and ages, with an early countdown at 9 PM at Hotel Transilvania for children. Continuous shuttle service was provided between the park and central Rome. The park's "Christmas on ice" show, featuring 30 international artists, will run until January 6.

🌊 Crystal Symphony sets sail for an 18-day journey from Tokyo to Vancouver in 2026, traversing the Pacific Northwest. The cruise starts in Aomori, Japan, visiting Kushiro, Kodiak Island in the US, famous for brown bears, and passes the International Date Line. It stops at Homer, Seward, and Hubbard Glacier, known for ice calving. The voyage includes Sitka, Wrangell with its 8,000-year-old Petroglyph Beach, Ketchikan, and finally through British Columbia to Vancouver, connecting two continents.

🚗 January strikes mainly affect local public and railway transport in Italy. Exceptions on January 10 include a 24-hour strike by Ost Cub Trasporti for Sea Aeroporti di Milano workers and handling companies, alongside Aviation Services at Venice's Marco Polo Airport, and infrastructure maintenance at Reti Ferroviarie Italiane.

🏝 Hilton to debut its Conrad brand in Los Cabos in 2027, marking the third Conrad property in Mexico. The beachfront resort will feature 175 rooms, including 21 pool suites, and 43 residences ranging from two to four bedrooms. The Conrad will be part of the Oleada Pacific Living & Golf, offering an all-day restaurant, specialty restaurant, poolside and beachside bars with grills, and a lobby bar, alongside ample meeting and wellness spaces.

📍 China's state-owned Comac aims to achieve European certification this year to challenge the Boeing and Airbus duopoly. Comac's C919, already in domestic use by Air China, China Eastern Airlines, and China Southern Airlines, will start its first regular commercial route outside mainland China from Shanghai to Hong Kong this month. By 2026, the single-aisle C919 is planned to fly in Southeast Asia, aligning with President Xi Jinping's vision for China's technological value chain ascent.

🕊 The official year of the Jubilee began with the opening of the Holy Door on Christmas Eve. Basilicata, Italy, launched a project named "Giubileo 2025 Pellegrini di Speranza – Basilicata, terra di fede e devozione." Rome expects 30 million pilgrims and features an exhibition and a multimedia installation. Apt Basilicata's General Director, Antonio Nicoletti, highlighted the region's sacred places. ✈ Universal Air will connect Rimini Airport to Munich and Malta with two weekly flights from June 5 to October 23, 2025, using a 78-seat Dash 8-400. The service meets both incoming needs from Germany and outgoing to Malta, as stated by the CEO of Rimini airport, Leonardo Corbucci. Further German market developments with charter flights for 2025 will be announced soon. Rimini joins the Universal Air network, already servicing locations including Ibiza, Nice, Santorini, and more.
