✈ Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary remains unruffled by the decline in profits and average fares causing a slip in the stock market. Ryanair still aims for 200 million passengers by 2024. Meanwhile, competitor easyJet reported a 16% profit increase in the quarter, catching O’Leary off guard.

✈ easyJet reported strong performance in April, May, and June with nearly 70% of summer flights sold. Pre-tax profit in the third quarter hit £236 million, a £33 million year-over-year increase. easyJet Holidays contributed £73 million, up £24 million. The airline offered 28.1 million seats, a 7% annual increase, maintaining a load factor of 90%, rising to 92% in June. Passenger numbers climbed from 23.5 million to 25.3 million. Ancillary revenue grew by 11% to £693 per seat. Total revenue per seat increased by 1% to £81.61, with package holiday revenue up 42% to £336 million. CEO Johan Lundgren predicts another record-breaking summer, with July to September bookings at 69%, representing 1.5 million more seats sold compared to the same period last year. For October to December 2024, 20% of the capacity has already been sold, up two percentage points, with a 5% capacity increase.

🚢 Seabourn cancels Red Sea stop planned for spring 2025 on Seabourn Encore, marking its first ever sail to the United States. Original 2025 itinerary scrapped, with the ship departing from Singapore, heading east, transiting Panama, and making port stops in the US. The new journey includes 36 stops in 18 countries, with extended stops in Tokyo, Puerto Vallarta, and Cartagena. Cruise segments range from 7 to 25 days, combinable up to 53 days, featuring a 14-day Southeast Asia and Japan trip from Singapore to Kobe, a 19-day Panama Canal cruise from Long Beach to Miami, and a 25-day transpacific voyage in Japan and Hawaii.
