Aeroporto di Torino, accordo con Enac per lo sviluppo dello scalo

✈️ Enac and Sagat signed a new program contract today for Turin airport, covering 2024-2027, focusing on investment plans to optimize the Piedmontese airport's capacity. The interventions include airside projects, like reconfiguring aircraft parking areas, improving walk-in and walk-out boarding paths, and landside projects, such as updating boarding gates, security checkpoints, and accommodating growing passenger traffic. Investments also target security enhancement and energy efficiency of the infrastructure.

Canarie: migliaia in piazza per protestare contro l’eccesso di turismo

🚩 In the Canary Islands, protests against overtourism continued with thousands protesting on Sunday, October 20. Demonstrations occurred in various locations, including 6,500 people gathered at Playa de las Américas in Tenerife. The movement, under the slogan "Canarias tiene un límite," stemmed from unmet demands since the first protests on April 20.

Finnair, più voli verso Usa ed Estremo Oriente nell’estate 2025

🚀 Finnair will increase flights to the US and Far East from the end of March 2025 through the summer season. Daily flights to Chicago, 11 flights a week to Dallas (5 additional frequencies), two extra weekly flights to both Seattle and Los Angeles. In Japan, daily operations to Osaka, home of Expo 2025, and one additional weekly flight to Nagoya. Shanghai to have four weekly frequencies. Finnair's increased capacity to the US offers passengers better connectivity to North America and beyond through partnerships with American Airlines and Alaska Airlines.

Turismo, il 24 ottobre Santanchè in Egitto per inaugurazione Scuola Italiana di Ospitalità

📍 Italian Tourism Minister Daniela Santanchè will attend the inauguration of the "Campus Enrico Mattei" Italian School of Hospitality in Hurghada, Egypt, on Thursday, October 24. The project, a collaboration between the Italian Ministry of Tourism, Italian School of Hospitality, Federturismo Confindustria, the Italian Embassy in Egypt, PickAlbatros Holding, and the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism, is part of the Mattei Plan for Africa aimed at strengthening Italy's ties with African countries. La Giamaica punta sulla promozione: piano da 6,3 milioni di dollari

🏖️ Jamaica is set to allocate $6.3 million to tourism marketing initiatives, announced during the 63rd Annual General Meeting of the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association by Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett. Motivated by a surge in travelers, the plan includes new air links from South America starting December 1st with Latam flights from Peru, and negotiations with Azul Airlines and Avianca to introduce flights from Brazil and connect other South American regions, respectively. Marketing campaigns in India and targeted promotions in Eastern Europe and the Schengen area are also planned.

Aci Europe/Seo Amsterdam Economics: gli aeroporti contribuiscono al 5% del Pil europeo

🏦 European airports and air connectivity account for 5% of Europe's GDP, as found in a study by ACI Europe conducted by SEO Amsterdam Economics titled "The economic and social impact of European airports and air connectivity". The study reveals that European airports and connectivity support 14 million jobs and generate €851 billion in GDP annually. A 10% increase in direct air connectivity leads to a 0.5% GDP per capita rise and 1.6% job growth. This connectivity also correlates with a 14% poverty rate decrease, 9% better education access, 8.5% more research and development investment, 19% gains in gender equality, and a 1.2% increase in life satisfaction.

Deloitte: Italia prima in Europa per investimenti alberghieri

Aniasa: nel terzo trimestre del 2024 frenano le immatricolazioni dei veicoli a noleggio

🚘 Vehicle rentals in Italy faced a sharp decrease with a -21.9% drop in registrations in Q3, almost equally impacting long-term (-22.1%) and short-term (-19.9%) rentals. After nine months, the rental market for cars and commercial vehicles concluded with a -7% downturn, with passenger cars (Pc) down 13% and light commercial vehicles (Lcv) up 19.3%. Although the sector aligns with the overall car market, it contrasts with the 2023 record year boosted by delayed deliveries from 2021 and 2022. Short-term rentals grew significantly post-pandemic but slowed down, especially in Q3, yet maintained a 6.7% market share.
