Lusso su rotaie: debutta La Dolce Vita Orient Express

🏡 La Dolce Vita Orient Express, Italy's first luxury train, was inaugurated at Roma Ostiense today. Its maiden journey on April 4 will travel through the Montalcino vineyards. The project involves Arsenale, Orient Express, FS Treni Turistici Italiani, and Fondazione FS. The train offers 31 cabins, including 18 suites, 12 deluxe, and one exclusive 'La Dolce Vita' Suite, restored by Cpl and Omer using Italian railway expertise. The interiors by Dimorestudio evoke the 60s with high-end materials and design nods to Giò Ponti and Gae Aulenti. Eight routes are planned across 14 regions, featuring Michelin-starred menus by chef Heinz Beck onboard. Attendees at the launch included CEOs Paolo Barletta, Gilda Perez-Alvarado, Luigi Cantamessa, and officials like Tourism Minister Daniela Santanchè, Senate President Ignazio La Russa, and Rome's tourism councilor Alessandro Onorato.

📅 The UK introduced the Eta for EU citizens on April 3, 2025, for short stays up to 6 months. Thailand aims to surpass 39 million international visitors this year, introducing a Digital Arrival Card in May to replace paper cards. The Seychelles will soon require travel authorization for sea arrivals. New Zealand increased its entry fee from 35 to 100 dollars, costing Europeans an additional 56 euros, potentially 70 with entrance authorization. The Balearic Islands will raise their 'ecotax' from 1 to 2.5 euros and up to 6 euros a night during peak summer, abolishing it in January and February. Greece will impose a 20 euro fee to disembark at Mykonos and Santorini from June. The EU's Etias, costing 7 euros, will be required for non-EU travelers to the Schengen area by the end of the year. South Korea extended the K-Eta exemption for 67 countries, including Italy, until December 31, 2025.

Iberia lancia una nuova politica per la distribuzione

✈ Iberia, a major airline, implements significant policy changes for travel agencies, focusing on accelerating the transition to NDC (New Distribution Capability). As of today, base fares will exclusively be sold through NDC channels, affecting all European countries (except the UK) plus the US, Brazil, Colombia, Uruguay, El Salvador, and Guatemala. Additionally, short and medium-haul tourist products will now have different offerings between NDC and traditional GDS (Global Distribution Systems), with NDC providing exclusive benefits such as discounts, a commitment to customer quality, and a 21-day ticket issuance deadline, compared to the 49 days in GDS. Tour operator rates will still be available under the Iberia Óptima and Comfort fare families with more options in NDC.
