67 new cruise ships, with approximately 170,000 new berths, have been ordered for operation across about 25 cruise brands, with deliveries scheduled up to 2036. The construction contracts are valued at $57 billion, with an average capacity of 2,500 passengers and an average gross tonnage of 115,000 tons. In 2025, 15 ships are expected to be delivered from various yards including Fincantieri, Chantiers de l’Atlantique, and Meyer in Finland and Germany. The Mein Schiff Relax was the first delivery in 2023, joining Tui Cruises in early February. Notable upcoming deliveries include Royal Caribbean International’s Star of the Seas in August, Princess Cruises’ Star Princess in Q3 2025, and two Disney Cruise Line ships at the end of 2025. MSC Cruises' World America will debut in the US with a christening in Miami on April 5. Royal Caribbean Group has a sixth Edge-class ship for Celebrity Cruises coming in 2028 from Chantiers de l’Atlantique, and the third Icon-class ship, Legend of the Seas, will enter service in 2026. Carnival Group has three new LNG units from Fincantieri for delivery in 2029, 2031, and 2033. Other updates include new constructions for Viking, Orient Express, and Four Seasons.
