Torna il Panettone Sospeso a Milano

🎂 From November 23 to December 22, 2024, the non-profit Associazione Panettone Sospeso ETS initiative in Milan allows people to donate a "suspended" panettone for the Casa dell'Accoglienza Enzo Jannacci and two Food Aid Hubs of the City of Milan. For each panettone left "in suspense," participating bakeries will add another, doubling the donation. The artist PAO is involved in promoting the initiative, turning street bollards into street art with QR codes leading to panettonesospeso.org for donations. Over five years, 7,000 panettoni have been collected and distributed, with remote donations possible through the website. Participating bakeries include Cake l'Hub, Cantun Bakery and Bistrot, and others.

Agrimontana lancia agricacao, il nuovo brand dedicato al cioccolato

🍫 Agricacao, new chocolate brand by Agrimontana, was launched at a press conference at the Allianz Tower in Milan on Wednesday, November 20. Maître chocolatier Davide Comaschi conducted a tasting, highlighting agricacao's aroma profile. The line includes white chocolates Bianco Alpi, Bianco FG, and Bianco Caramel, plus Gourmet selections like Gianduja latte, vegan chocolates Almondcoa, and monorigine chocolates from Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, and Costa Rica. A Chuao Criollo chocolate bar and Carati pralines by Comaschi were gifted to attendees.

However, 24% of Italians do not know what polyphenols are, and 50% of those under 25 are uninformed. A roundtable discussion highlighted the need for better labeling, dietary education, and the role of general practitioners in improving consumer knowledge.

Learning For Life, il programma di formazione di Diageo nei settori dell'ospitalità e del bartending

🏠 Diageo's Learning For Life program, active since 2019 in Italy, has trained about 400 students in bartending and mixology. For 2024/2025, it plans 6 courses in Milan, Turin, and Rome for 132 students. Around 60% of participants find hospitality jobs within a year. A special edition for Ukrainian refugees is set for Rome in 2024. Since its global start in 2008, over 146,000 young people in 35+ countries have been trained through 90+ courses.

Il Wttc lancia la seconda edizione della Net Zero Roadmap for Travel & Tourism

🌱 William Chen from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore developed a biodegradable food wrap made from soy by-products in 2020 and has recently created a new wrap infused with antimicrobial compounds from discarded avocado pits, durian, and jackfruit seeds. The wrap changes color as food deteriorates, signaling spoilage. During lab tests on raw shrimp, it changed from yellow to brown two days before any noticeable spoilage. Researchers aim to make this technology available on the market soon.
