🏖️ Malaysia sees a surge in Italian tourist arrivals from January to June 2024, surpassing pre-pandemic levels with an 11.2% growth compared to the same period in 2019. During these six months, Malaysia welcomed 24,561 visitors from Italy, a 52.8% increase from 2023. Italy ranks as the fifth-largest European market for Malaysian tourism, with June 2024 recording a record high of 3,780 Italian arrivals. Malaysia aims to host 27.3 million arrivals in 2024 and targets 35.6 million international tourists by 2026. Datuk Manoharan Periasamy, Director General of Tourism Malaysia, highlights Italy among the top five European markets and anticipates more Italian tourists in the coming years.
