Intesa GDI: nella ristorazione cresce l'uso di acqua di rete trattata invece di minerale imbottigliata

  • Tony Loeb
  • 16 Dicembre 2024
📈 At the annual Convention of the Consorzio Intesa, a talk session was held to discuss the growing trend of serving network-treated water in public places. Network-treated water currently holds at least a 15% market share in Horeca venues, with an expanding trend that's affecting the mineral water producers and Horeca distributors for whom bottled water sales are a significant business asset. Key industry players like Ferrarelle, Sanpellegrino, San Benedetto, Maniva, and Vera participated in the debate. Initiatives are being planned for joint producer/distributor efforts to educate about the advantages of bottled mineral water and the downsides of microfiltered water, including non-certified sources, nutritional depletion, hidden maintenance costs, legal fines for mislabeled water, and a three-to-one water wastage ratio by filtration systems.

Le low cost contro la tassa inserita in Manovra: “Eliminare questo ulteriore balzello”

  • Tony Loeb
  • 16 Dicembre 2024
💸 Aicalf, representing low-fare airlines in Italy, opposes the new 50-cent increase per passenger in the local tax for boarding rights on flights to non-European destinations. The tax applies to airports with annual traffic of over 10 million passengers. Aicalf's president, Alessandro Fonti, warns this hike could harm competitiveness, as demonstrated by studies presented in parliament, and directly affect passengers who rely on the affected airports for travel beyond tourism. The measure contrasts with the Ministry of Transport's plans to reduce the tax nationwide.

Mastercard Economics Institute: gli italiani spendono di più per i viaggi domestici rispetto a quelli all’estero

  • Laura Alese - Federturismo Confindustria
  • 16 Dicembre 2024
💸 According to the Mastercard Economics Institute's 2025 Outlook, the global economy is expected to moderately accelerate, seeing a 3.2% growth compared to 3.1% in 2024. In Italy, there's a shift in consumer spending with a 1.4% decrease in international travel expenses, a preference for fast food over traditional restaurants by 1.3%, and a 1.2% drop in luxury goods expenditure, particularly in clothing. Despite a challenging 2024, digital payments in Italy grew, reaching between 465 and 475 billion euros, equaling cash for the first time and potentially surpassing it in 2025. The "travel twins" trend emerges, with travelers choosing less expensive or less crowded destinations, like Dublin over London. Rome and Milan remain top winter choices for tourists from the Middle East, Africa, and North America. Italians' Winter Top 5 includes Budapest, Tenerife, Sharm El Sheikh, Abu Dhabi, and Krakow.
