Vino e Africa: una partita aperta tra opportunità e ostacoli
🍷 Africa, emerging as a dynamic wine market, is witnessing a growth in imports, with sparkling wines leading the charge, growing by 10% annually and constituting over a quarter of the continent's imports. France remains the top exporter to Africa, holding 34% of the market with $190 million in exports, followed by Spain with 21%. South Africa, exporting 3.5 million hectoliters in 2023, plays a dual role as a significant local producer and importer. Italy's exports to Africa have reached $20 million in 2023, with a growth rate of 11% annually over the last four years. Projections by Statista suggest the African wine market may reach $10 billion by 2025. However, growth is challenged by regulatory fragmentation, infrastructural gaps, and the need for investments in local operator training and product adaptation to consumer preferences. The next five years are critical, with Africa potentially accounting for up to 3% of global wine exports by 2030, valued at over $15 billion.
