🍕 Pianeta Pizza's team, Irene Onofri, Dario Gioco, Alessio Valloni, and Gabriele Tomassetti, introduce autumn menu and cocktails in Svario, boasting two Gambero Rosso guide slices for 2025 and a mention in 50 Top Pizza. The menu features a pop-collage style presentation, with dishes like fried polenta with porcini and various pizzas with over 70% hydration dough rested for 24 hours. Signature drinks accompany pizza creations, like the "Amatriciana di Gabriele" paired with a tequila-based cocktail. Desserts include Roman classics and new tartlets.

In the first 8 months, Lombardy saw over 13 million arrivals and 37 million tourist nights, an 11% increase. European tourists lead with nearly 75%, followed by Asians (9%) and North Americans (8%). Top countries include Germany (21%) and the USA (7%).

Daniele Gagliotta vince il decimo Campionato Mondiale Pizza DOC

🍕 Daniele Gagliotta, 32, from Naples and resident in Washington D.C., won the 10th World Pizza DOC Championship and was named "Best Italian Pizzaiolo in the World" in November 2024 in Capaccio – Paestum, Italy. His winning pizza included shrimp bisque, olive oil, datterino tomatoes, fiordilatte, and taggiasche olives, garnished with buffalo stracciatella, shrimp tartare, lemon zest, sprouts, beet flowers, and mint. Nearly 900 pizzas were made by over 500 participants from more than 30 countries. The event took place from November 12th to 14th, 2024, at the NEXT – Nuova Esposizione ex Tabacchificio, organized by the Accademia Nazionale Pizza DOC.

La carta dei Vini del Ristorante Enrico Bartolini si trasforma in un'opera d'arte in divenire

🎨 Teo KayKay, an artist known for turning Champagne bottles into collectible art, created a unique site-specific artwork for the three-Michelin-starred Enrico Bartolini restaurant at Mudec. The graffiti depicts Enrico Bartolini with his famous dish, Risotto with red beets and gorgonzola sauce, against the backdrop of Milan. The project includes embedding 15 wine menu covers into the wall, which will be updated with reprints throughout 2025 to complete a "puzzle" within the artwork. The wine list, curated by Sebastien Ferrara (Restaurant Manager) and Edoardo Jobet (Sommelier), features 800 labels and 170 illustrations hand-drawn by Teo KayKay, showcasing the identity and soul of each wine region. This collaboration also involves Monica Biella (General Manager of Bartolini Group), creating an extraordinary wine list that elevates the dining experience at Mudec.

🛑 In Italy, the Carabinieri Command for Health Protection with the Ministry of Health conducted nationwide school cafeteria inspections at the start of the new school year. Over 700 inspections revealed irregularities in nearly 1 in 4 cafeterias, resulting in 225 administrative or criminal violations, fines totaling €130,000, the arrest of 5 operators, and the seizure of 350 kg of food worth approximately €5M. Violations included hygiene issues, unmet quality/quantity standards, and lack of food traceability.
