Giappone, primo trimestre record con oltre 10 milioni di arrivi

🌍 Japan, after a record-breaking 2024 with 37 million international visitors, continues its positive trend in early 2025, reaching 10.53 million visitors in the first quarter, and aims for 40 million by year-end. In March alone, coinciding with cherry blossom season, the country welcomed 3.49 million tourists. Factors such as lifted Covid-19 restrictions and a weaker local currency, which reduces travel costs, are driving the tourism boom. The annual White Paper on Tourism highlights the concentration of foreign visitors in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto, with plans to spread tourism to rural areas.

Boom del Food&Grocery online: l'eCommerce italiano continua a crescere

💸 In Italy, online purchases are expected to grow by 6% in 2025, reaching over €62 billion, with services sector up by 8% to €22 billion and product eCommerce increasing by 6% beyond €40 billion. Food & Grocery and Beauty&Pharma sectors predict a 7% growth. Online retail penetration in the product sector hits 11.2%, up 0.5% from 2024. Italian eCommerce companies with websites have grown by 3.4% to 91,000, with a marked increase in capital companies by 8.5%. Lombardy, Lazio, and Campania lead in distribution, with Milan, Rome, and Naples as main hubs. In 2025, 35.2 million Italians shop online, an increase of 1.5 million from the previous year, with 89% of transactions happening at the time of order, and Digital Wallets (30.8%) and credit cards (26.4%) as preferred payment methods.

🏖 Evolution Travel recorded €5 million in sales in March, a 26.26% increase from the same period last year. The first quarter saw nearly €16 million in revenue, matching the pre-pandemic annual turnover. March had 982 sales (+13.26% compared to March 2024) with an average value of €5,306 per sale (+11.47%). The top destinations were the United States (€458,587), Egypt (€410,151), Japan (€398,850), Maldives (€385,882), and Kenya (€262,494). First-quarter sales reached €15,341,466, exceeding the previous year by 20%.

🏡 Eurostars, under the Spanish Hotusa group, announced the lease acquisition of Eurostars Matera La Suite 5*, a boutique hotel in Italy, adding to its 12 existing properties in the country. The hotel, inaugurated in 2019, features 40 sophisticated suites and retains original elements of its historic building. Italy is Hotusa's third-largest market, with locations in Rome, Florence, Naples, Venice, and Palermo. Grupo Hotusa President Amancio López emphasizes the strategy to expand in Italy's premium segment. Eurostars Hotel Company, the hotel chain of Grupo Hotusa, operates over 270 hotels in 21 countries under 6 brands.

CDSHotels, dati al rialzo grazie all’early booking

🏕 CDSHotels anticipates a strong summer in 2025 with bookings up 31% compared to the same time in 2024, driven by both international guests and an awakened national clientele. Early booking discounts of 10% ended March 31, while some properties offer a reduced 5% discount until April 30. French and Swiss bookings have surged, placing them at the top of the market, with Germans and English following, despite a slight dip in German reservations due to recession. The American market is burgeoning, particularly for the Baia Taormina due to the 'White Lotus' effect. CDSHotels expands with the upcoming late June opening of the CDSHotels Le Castella - Ninfe Saracene in Calabria, a 4-star Superior hotel with 85 rooms.
