🏖 In August, Italy's tourism trade balance showed a €2.8 billion surplus, slightly higher than August 2023. Foreign travelers spent €7.5 billion, up 3.1%, while Italians spent €4.7 billion abroad, increasing by 3%. Over the three months ending in August 2024, both inbound and outbound travel transactions rose by 3.5% and 4.7%, respectively, compared to the same period in 2023. The growth is attributed to more travelers but reduced per-capita spending. EU visitors' spending in Italy surged by 6%, and Italian spending abroad grew nearly 5% for both EU and non-EU destinations.

King Holidays reported a recovery in group travel, with a 40% increase in long-haul destinations. Consumi di vino in calo (-2%), con aumento della frequenza d’acquisto (+3,3%). Spumanti (63,4%) superano vini fermi (61%) come consumi fuoricasa, con l'aperitivo come principale occasione di consumo.
