Spohr, Lufthansa: “Restiamo ottimisti per l’estate”
🏩 Lufthansa predicts growth in 2025 with an operating result higher than the previous year's, despite a net loss of €885 million in Q1, up from €734 million the year before. Revenue rose 10% to €8.127 billion with 24.3 million passengers flown. CEO Carsten Spohr remains optimistic amidst geopolitical uncertainties. U.S. demand grows, with a 25% increase in passengers from the U.S. to Europe in March. Plans include reducing capacity growth from 6% to 3% in Q4 due to a projected 10% drop in North Atlantic traffic for the first nine months. European leisure destinations remain strong, with a 5% capacity increase to Scandinavia for the summer. Lufthansa expects at least 40 long-haul aircraft over 20 months, including the first Boeing 787 for the summer.
