☕ The 11th edition of Triestespresso Expo, the world-exclusive fair dedicated to espresso, opened on October 24 and runs until October 26 at the Generali Convention Center in Trieste's Porto Vecchio - Porto Vivo. The biennial event features participants from 48 countries, reinforcing its position as a key industry touchpoint. Organized by the Venezia Giulia Chamber of Commerce and its in-house company Aries Scarl, the expo includes a collaboration with the Associazione Caffè Trieste and support from the Municipality of Trieste. Italy consumes 95 million cups of espresso daily. The first day of the expo started with a focus on the EU's impending European Deforestation-free products Regulation (Eudr).

📈 Inalpi shined at SIAL 2024 (19-23 October) in Paris, winning recognition for its lactose-free Yogurt Line and Burro Reale, a unique 30g butter created with Michelin-starred chef Gian Piero Vivalda. The event hosted 7,500 exhibitors from 200 countries, presenting over 400,000 products with 1,800 spotlighted for innovation. Inalpi also received the Italian Food Awards 2024 and teased the upcoming Mascarpone Latterie Inalpi for late 2024 or early 2025.

🍸 At the World's 50 Best Bars 2024, Europe lost its top spot held since 2020; Barcelona's Sips, 2023's number one, fell to third place. Mexico City's Hadshake Speakeasy claims the top position, followed by Bar Leone in Hong Kong. The best Italian bar, Drink Kong in Rome, ranks 33rd. Asia, Africa, and South America's presence in mixology is growing, with cities like Tokyo, Singapore, Bangkok, Dubai, Bogotá, Guadalajara, and Lima being notable. Africa is catching up, with Nairobi and Johannesburg bars ranking 75th and 81st. The IBA World Championships in Madeira will see Nigerian and Senegalese competitors for the first time. Italy's mixology scene is represented in the world's top ranks with Bar Leone and Sips in Hong Kong and Barcelona, respectively. Italy boasts four bars in the top 50, with Rome's Drink Kong at 33rd, a drop from last year, and new entry Moebius in Milan at 38th.

🍕 On October 21, Raffaele Bonetta hosted a sold-out culinary event at Pizzeria Popolare of Big Mamma Group in Paris, celebrating the San Marzano tomato with Solania, a leading supplier. Bonetta worked with Andrea De Michele, Big Mamma's executive pizza chef, to fuse tradition and creativity through dishes like Tarte Tatin al San Marzano and spicy marinara pizza, emphasizing international collaboration and gastronomic excellence.

☕ SSC Napoli renewed its partnership with Caffè Toraldo, a historic Naples-based roastery, for three more seasons as Official Coffee Partner, building on their three-year relationship. SSC Napoli is currently leading the league, and the partnership celebrates shared values and the region's identity. Caffè Toraldo, with a 50+ year history and now in its third generation, honors Neapolitan espresso tradition and has paid homage to football icon Maradona with a special "D10S" blend.

☕ Triestespresso Expo, scheduled for September 24-26 at the new Trieste Congress Center, will feature international competitions including pulyCAFF's® support. Gianfranco and Marco Carubelli will be present. The "Capo in B Championship" kicks off on October 24 between 13:00-16:00. The World Latte Art Grading Battle Championship finals occur on October 26 from 10:00-17:00. The Moka Contest also takes place on October 26. Participants receive a pulyCAFF® sample bag, winners get a pulyCAFF® Kit Box.

🎭 Il 26 ottobre, Talk de Il Post si terrà al Teatro Bellini di Napoli, un evento in collaborazione con Ferrarelle Società Benefit, quarto nel settore delle acque minerali in Italia, presentando giornalisti de Il Post e figure culturali come Daria Bignardi e Gipi. 🏡 InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace won multiple awards at the World Luxury Hotel Awards 2024 in Belfast, recognized by votes from over 300,000 global travelers. Opened in 2023, the hotel earned 'Best Luxury New Hotel' and 'Best Luxury City Hotel'. The on-site Scarpetta NYC, led by executive chef Riccardo Ioanna, received 'Best Italian Cuisine', 'Best Contemporary Cuisine', and 'Best Unique Experience'. Awards were accepted by Ioanna and Commercial director Paolo Muzzeddu.

🍰 Pasquale Pesce of Pasticceria Pesce in Avella (Avellino) won at the ninth edition of "Panettone senza confini," for both Traditional Panettone and Best Chocolate Panettone. Notable jury members included Iginio Massari, Paco Torreblanca, Pascal Lac, and APEI Maestros Riccardo Bellaera, Emmanuele Forcone, Mauro Lo Faso, and Francesco Mastroianni. Roberto Moreschi of Chiavenna (Sondrio) received the award for Best Pandoro, while public and critics favored Nicola Zanella of Pederobba (Treviso) for his chocolate Panettone. Amateur Section winner was Raffaele Farina of Varese. Partners included Agrimontana and others.

✈ Norse Atlantic will connect Rome Fiumicino with Los Angeles starting on May 22, 2025. This new route, active until the end of the summer season, joins the existing Rome-New York connection and will operate with a Boeing 787-900. Rome airport becomes Norse's fourth hub from LAX after Paris, London Gatwick, and Oslo.
