🍕 PizzaUp 2024, the 19th edition, held on November 4-5 in Venice at the Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal, focused on new economic and social perspectives in the pizza sector. Organized by Petra Molino Quaglia, the event titled "Pizzaioli in catene" included debates and workshops. Key discussions involved chain pizzerias, the balance of work and private life, and digital communication strategies. The Away From Home sector in Italy, worth €294 billion, has an annual expenditure of €99 billion, with pizza occasions costing €25 billion (1.173 billion pizzas consumed). The event highlighted the importance of increasing consumer value in a market where 73% of Italians view eating out as essential micro-happiness, and 56% of outings have an average receipt below €6.

🍴 Chefs Alfonso D’Auria and two-Michelin-starred Giovanni Solofra present a unique culinary event on Saturday, November 16, at Follie in Villa Agrippina, Rome. Offering a special four-hand dinner, the chefs will explore contrasts and fusions in a six-course meal, starting with an aperitif at the cocktail bar Amaro. Highlight dishes include D'Auria's zero-waste "Fiore di carciofo" and Solofra's "Pescatori d’Argento" risotto. A surprise dish will be revealed during the event. 🏦 Emirates resumes direct flights between Dubai and Edinburgh after almost 5 years halted by Covid, marking the 8th UK destination. Added to the Glasgow connection, it doubles flights to Scotland. Adnan Kazim emphasizes easy connections to popular long-haul destinations. In 2023, Scotland saw a 23% increase in international visitors, with 4 million arrivals contributing £3.59 billion to the economy.
