🏥 Hilton is hosting a recruiting day in Italy on February 6 to hire 300 new team members, primarily for food & beverage, kitchen, and front office roles. Selections will take place simultaneously at four locations: Hilton Molino Stucky Venice, Hilton Sorrento Palace, Hilton Lake Como, and Rome Cavalieri, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel. Interviews will be held for various properties in Rome, Como, Venice, and Sorrento. Candidates can apply online and, if shortlisted, will have a phone interview followed by an in-person interview.

🎂 Italy participated in the Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie 2025 held in Lyon on January 24-25, featuring teams from 18 countries. Italian team members included Vincenzo Daloiso, Raimondo Esposito, and Alessandro Fiorucci, led by Lorenzo Puca. The competition theme was national heritage, and Italy showcased Leonardo Da Vinci-inspired creations. 🚀 Starting November 1, Etihad Airways introduces a third daily flight between Milan and Abu Dhabi, providing 12,600 weekly seats—an increase of 115% from the previous year. Flights, operated by Boeing 777-300 and Airbus A321LR aircraft, are timed for convenient travel, catering to both business and leisure passengers. Arik De, Etihad's Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, highlights the new schedule's alignment with the growing global network.

🎂 Mille&UnBabà, a pastry contest focused on the traditional Neapolitan sweet and organized by Mulino Caputo, enters its fourth edition. Professional pastry chefs can apply starting today, with selections leading up to the final in Naples at the Grand Hotel Vesuvio on March 17. The jury includes Antimo Caputo (CEO of Mulino Caputo), Gennaro Esposito (Michelin-starred chef), Sal De Riso (famous pastry chef and president of AMPI), and Sabatino Sirica (patriarch of Neapolitan pastry). Applications, including CV and recipe, are due by March 3. The winner receives 1000 kg of Mulino Caputo flour and €1000. Technical sponsor SIDEA Spices and Herbs will contribute to the aromatic profile of the baked goods.

☕ At the Italian Barista Championships 2025, in Rimini's Sigep, La San Marco coffee machines were selected for the "Coffee in Good Spirits" category. Andrea Villa won for the third time (2020, 2024, 2025) and will represent Italy at the World Championships in Geneva in June. The event highlighted the synergy between coffee culture and La San Marco's excellence, aiming to inspire youth and promote sustainable Specialty Coffee following SCA standards.

🌍 Dunas Travel, an Egyptian DMC with over 16 years in the Spanish and Latin American markets, expands to Italy, highlighting 32+ itineraries in Egypt, tailor-made trips, 24/7 assistance, and Italian-speaking staff. The company, boasting a private bus fleet, caters to destinations like Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, and more, including Nile cruises. Annually serving 100,000 passengers, 85% stem from Spain, Latin America, and Brazil, with 2,000 from Italy in 2024. ✈ Delta Air Lines to resume flights to Tel Aviv in spring, starting from New York's airport on April 1st. The move follows the easing of tensions in the Middle East. Other U.S. carriers may follow suit, including United. European airlines have also restarted flights to Israel.

🍴 Luigi Ambrosio from Da Gigione Gourmand in Pomigliano d'Arco (NA) won the Veggie Style contest in 2024, aimed at chefs under 35. The contest, promoting plant-based eating, was organized by D'Amico and 50 Top Italy. A jury of experts evaluated 11 vegetarian sandwiches, with the final event on January 23, 2025, at Palazzo Caracciolo in Naples. Ambrosio's winning sandwich featured Olive Leccino alla Cilentana, with sustainability and zero waste as key themes.

📦 At SIGEP 2025, Mais Corvino won the Lorenzo Cagnoni Award in the BEST ORGANICS AND FREE FROM PRODUCTS category for its 100% vegetable, gluten-free biscuits made from exclusive Mais Corvino. Founded in 2013 and acquired by MartinoRossi SpA in 2022, Mais Corvino Srl has combined ancient tradition with innovation to expand its market reach. MartinoRossi, established in the 1950s, is now a leading producer of gluten-free, soy-free, and GMO-free cereal and legume-based ingredients.

🏠 Molino Dallagiovanna showcased at Sigep World 2025 in Rimini, from January 18 to 22, the 190-year-old mill presented their premium flours and new products. Uniqua celebrated its 10th anniversary with the launch of Uniqua Viola, a whole wheat flour with naturally pigmented grains, high in fiber and antioxidants, suitable for a variety of purple-hued baked goods. Notable pastry chefs shared recipes inspired by childhood flavors. Iginio Massari introduced "Panfrutto al mandarino" and previewed Meet Massari R-evolution tour dates: London on May 12, Las Vegas on September 16, and Naples on October 27. The fourth edition of Pizza Bit Competition was announced, with TheFork offering a prize to finalists. Molino Dallagiovanna's next events include Sirha in Lyon from January 23 to 27 and the Pastry Bit Competition semifinals from February 8 to 10 in Ponte di Legno. Uniqua Viola, rich in anthocyanins and lower glycemic index, is sold in 10 kg bags.
