Luxury Travel Intelligence: Roma seconda al mondo per aperture di hotel extra lusso

🏡 Roma ranks second in the world for new luxury hotel openings, behind London, with a projected 30% increase in luxury rooms by 2025 and a doubling in the next five years. The Corinthia Rome, featuring 60 rooms and 21 suites, is set to open this year. Casa Monti by Leitmotiv, Orient Express, and Romeo Collection's Romeo Roma with 74 luxury rooms and suites are also launching. Nobu Hotel and Restaurant Roma, with 122 rooms including a 500 sqm suite, is yet to announce its opening date. By 2025, Grand Hotel Nazareno, Baccarat Hotel Rome, Thompson Rome by Hyatt, and Rosewood with 157 rooms and 44 suites will open. A Four Seasons hotel, representing over €500 million investment, is coming to Piazza San Silvestro. Mandarin Oriental's luxury complex, a €80 million investment, is due in 2026.

Boston Consulting Group: Millennial e Gen Z richiedono l’assicurazione incorporata

💰 Millennials and Gen Z, known as 'point-and-click' consumers, are inclined towards embedded insurance in purchasing processes, with 84% of Gen Z and 75% of Millennials preferring it. Automotive and travel are the favored sectors for integrated insurance, with 30% of young generations likely to buy such policies. Embedded insurance market in travel and hospitality is projected to grow from $18.8 billion in 2023 to $37 billion by 2030, at a CAGR of 9.67%. Over 30% of insurance transactions are expected to be through integrated channels by 2028, with 82% of younger consumers preferring mobile devices for insurance purchases.

🏠 Global hotel demand over the past 17 months has surpassed 2019 levels, with a 6% increase in May. The database includes 83,000 hotels, indicating growth in areas like Rome (+6%), Paris (+4%), and stagnation in London. January-May 2024 occupancy in European cities ranged from 60-80%, with Milan at 70% and Rome at 68%. Rate increases for January-May 2024 over 2023 include Rome (+6%), Milan (+7%), Paris (+4%), and Brussels (+2%). Upcoming bookings show a +48% increase in weekday reservations. Luxury market performance in Italy shows Rome at 69% occupancy, Venice at 69%, Florence at 79%, Lake Como at 82%, Amalfi Coast and Capri at 75%. High season rates in 2023 peaked in June and July with Rome at €891, Florence at €960, and the Amalfi Coast and Capri at €1,890. In June 2023, Europe welcomed 2.7 million American visitors, with a year-over-year increase in April 2024 of 40,000 tourists in Italy. The Italian occupancy rate for the first five months of 2024 is 66%, with exceptions like Turin and Genoa exceeding 2019 levels. Garden Sharing: vacanze open air soprattutto fuori stagione

🏖️ Travelers prefer using their own tents or campers during the low season from March to May and September to November, according to Garden Sharing. Reservations on Garden Sharing for the first six months of 2024, with the latest check-ins in August, indicate summer isn't as crucial for outdoor demand. The most sought-after experiences include meals, farm stays, wineries, natural oases, wellness, and pet-friendly options. Tuscany (18.8%), Emilia Romagna (17.6%), and Sardinia (10.6%) are favorite destinations for Italian open-air tourists, while Tuscany (29%), Veneto (15.3%), and Emilia Romagna (11.5%) top the list for foreigners. Reservations for August show Sardinia leading among outdoor travelers followed by Puglia, Veneto, and Tuscania, with foreign tourists favoring southern regions (Campania, Basilicata, Calabria) mainly from Germany (19.7%), France (16.9%), with lesser percentages from Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Great Britain. Couples and families dominate, with bookings for 2 to 4 people at 60%, but solo travelers and groups over five, including large families and organizations, are on the rise.

🏖️ In 2024, the global travel sector's contribution to GDP is expected to reach $11.1 trillion. Europe's tourism is projected to generate nearly €1.75 trillion, up about 6% from 2019, with jobs surpassing 24.5 million, a 4.5% increase from 2019. International spending will be about €517 billion, while local spending is set to exceed €982 billion. Italy's tourism grew by 8.4% in 2023, contributing €214.9 billion to the GDP, and is forecasted to be worth €223.1 billion in 2024, almost 11% of the total economy.

L’accoglienza ‘oltre il lusso’ di Villa Magia a Positano

🏖 Villa Magia, a luxury boutique resort in Positano, was transformed from an ancient watchtower and family home by Luca Vespoli and his wife Simona. Founded in 2015, it evolved from a holiday home to a hotel, now offering 16 sea-view rooms, including two independent annexes, two pools (one heated), and the Bouganvillea Wellness&Hammam. The resort also features a gourmet restaurant, Luna, led by chef Enzo Licciardi, with a focus on simplistic dishes highlighting local produce. Villa Magia offers a personalized guest experience with services like smartphones for direct communication with reception, and Magia Boats for exclusive sea tours.

Hospitality Design Conference in pillole.

Digital Advertising activities accounted for 36% of total revenue among Nozio’s clients in Q2 2024, a 5% increase over the same period in the previous year. Online advertising ROI averaged around 10x, slightly down from 12x in Q2 2023, reaching 15x when including offline contacts generated from campaigns.
