easyJet al giro di boa: parte la riorganizzazione sul mercato italiano

✈️ EasyJet, the second-largest airline in Italy, carried over 20 million passengers last year on 226 routes from 21 Italian airports. The winter 2024 season will see a 7.5% increase in offerings, with an eighth aircraft in Naples and 13 new routes from Milan Malpensa and Naples, including destinations like Tromsø, Cairo, Oslo, Rabat, Alicante, and Prague. EasyJet plans to reorganize operations in Italy, reallocating aircraft from Venice to ensure long-term success, but will maintain connections to major European destinations from Venice. Lorenzo Lagorio, country manager of easyJet Italy, highlighted investment growth in Lombardy, Campania, and other Italian destinations. If selected as a remedy taker in the Ita Airways and Lufthansa agreement, easyJet aims to open bases at Milan Linate and Rome Fiumicino by summer 2025.

Viaggi d’affari in salute: cresce il BTT Uvet

💰 Business travel in August saw the Business Travel Trend Index by Gruppo Uvet rise to 104, an 8-point increase from July, outperforming the annual average. Transactions climbed 6 points to 86. Average spending index edged up 1 point month-on-month, shifting from 120 to 121, indicating price stabilization. Flights surged 11 points to 94 in value and 6 points to 77 in transactions. Car rental transactions and value jumped from 130 to 163, and 144 to 185, respectively. Hospitality sector recorded 90 points in transactions, a slight drop from 95 in July, but with a steady value of 110. Rail remained consistent with the previous month at 65 in transactions and 71 in value but dipped slightly year-on-year. Domestic travels hit 103 points, European travels 105, and intercontinental journeys 104.

L’Arabia Saudita apre alle licenze per chi investe

🏖️ Saudi Arabia is scrapping fees for commercial licenses for hotels, serviced apartments, and residential resorts to boost tourism. This initiative is part of the 'Tourism Investment Enabler Programme' launched in March and aligns with the 'Vision 2030' goals, which include modernizing the kingdom and diversifying its economy with over $800 billion invested. Saudi Arabia is also issuing new airline licenses, with Saudia Airlines recently purchasing 105 aircraft aiming to increase passenger numbers to 300 million and establish direct connections to 250 destinations, currently at 170.
