Spirits & Colori: masterclass e degustazioni in Italia con whisky d'eccellenza

🥃 Spirits & Colori organizes a national itinerant whisky event with ambassadors Fergus Simpson and Michele Reina presenting global whisky excellences. Duncan Taylor, founded in Glasgow in 1938, owns whiskies dating back to 1864 and has over 4,500 casks after being acquired by Euan Shand. Octave Cask, a 50-liter barrel, yields about 70 unique bottles per batch. Masterclass tasting dates in Italy include locations in Viterbo, Florence, Villafranca di Verona, Noventa di Piave, and Treviso from October 2-7, 2024. Ross & Squibb Distillery, known for American Rye and Bourbon, was founded in 1809 and acquired by George Remus in 1921. Products include Remus Straight Bourbon Whiskey aged 5/6 years, Master Crafted Rye 5 Years, Bottled in Bond Straight Rye Whiskey, and Straight Rye Whiskey Barrel Proof aged 7 years, with alcohol volumes ranging from 47% to 58.5%. Additional masterclass dates with Michele Reina span from September 23 to October 24, 2024, in various Italian cities.

Ristorazione: come i turisti selezionano i locali dove mangiare in Italia

📈 In Italy, 38.3% of tourists choose restaurants online, with Google reviews most used at 17%, followed by TripAdvisor (6.7%), and social media (14.5%). Word-of-mouth influences 50.7% of dining decisions, and 11% decide by walking past a restaurant. The survey by Osservatorio Ristorazione included 2400 venues nationwide and will be presented at RistoratoreTop Live in Bologna from October 21-23, 2024. Data shows 61.6% of tourists dine at a restaurant for the first time, while 38.4% are repeat visitors. Dining is most common in pairs (34.1%), with family (31.9%), friends (28.7%), or for work (3.7%). Only 1.6% dine alone. New trends for 2024 include requiring credit card details or deposits for reservations, addressing no-shows which account for 2% of lost revenue for restaurants.
