Tipperary cocktail: storia, ricetta IBA e tips per interpretazioni contemporanee
🍸 The Choice, a bespoke 17-seater cocktail bar, opened in 2020 in Parma, led by Luca Redolfini and Mattia Schiaretti, focusing on whisky. The Tipperary cocktail, dating back to 1916, was first listed in Hugo Ensslin's Recipes for Mixed Drinks. Variations emerged in the 1920s and 1930s, with the International Bartenders Association (IBA) codifying the original 1916 recipe in 2020, which includes 50 ml Irish Whiskey, 25 ml red vermouth, 15 ml green Chartreuse, and 2 drops of Angostura Bitters. Modern variants suggested by IBA include Cognac or Cachaça substitutions and different vermouth infusions.
