Italia senza face boarding: arriva lo stop del Garante
🛫 In September 2025, Italy's Privacy Authority halted the use of facial recognition ("FaceBoarding") at Linate and Fiumicino airports. Initiated in Linate between 2019-2020 and expanded to Fiumicino in 2024, the service allowed voluntary registration for quicker boarding. Concerns arose over biometric data control, prompting the temporary halt. SEA, managing the Milan airports, aims to resolve the issue and resume the service while ensuring passenger privacy and compliance with regulations.
