In 2023, Scotland saw a 23% increase in international visitors, with 4 million arrivals contributing £3.59 billion to the economy.

📃 Vfs Global, exclusive provider of Indonesia's new e-Visa on arrival (e-VoA) service, targets travelers from 97 eligible countries including Italy. Starting mid-December 2024, the online platform streamlines the visa application process with pre-approval via email. Indonesia's General Director of Immigration Silmy Karim aims to enhance foreign entries, supporting the country's goal of 14 million visitors in 2024, building on the 9.92 million arrivals from January to August 2024. Vfs Global partnered with Emirates to facilitate e-VoA applications for airline passengers.

Barbara Cipolloni, the product manager, highlights over 1,000 dedicated flight seats from major Italian airports. Options range from European city breaks to unique New Year's celebrations in Morocco or Nile cruises, featuring customizable packages with local culture and tradition experiences.

🏠 Lazio focuses on the 2025 Jubilee, aiming to distribute tourist flows beyond Rome. Antonello Aurigemma, President of the Lazio Regional Council, promotes diverse tourism through religious, naturalistic, and exploratory routes. Over 35 million arrivals are expected for the Jubilee, as detailed by Gianluca Caramanna, advisor to the Minister of Tourism, at the WTM London press conference. The strategy encourages tourists to extend their stay by 2 nights outside of Rome.

🍷 Sannio Consorzio Tutela Vini will attend the Merano Wine Festival from November 8-12. Casa Sannio will feature tastings of Falanghina del Sannio Doc, Aglianico del Taburno DOCG, Sannio Doc, and Benevento IGT. Josef Czerny's Kurhaus in Merano serves as the venue. On November 9, 10, and 11, chef Daniele Luongo and pizzaiolo Gino Sorbillo will present local gastronomy, including traditional Neapolitan pizza. Casa Sannio is a 72-square-meter structure located at Merano's historic center (Corso delle Libertà).

🍹 Milan's nightlife hotspot Flores Cócteles, located at via Macedonio Melloni 9, launches a new series of weekly-changing "event evenings" starting with a special event on November 5 featuring oysters and Martini cocktails. Huîtres Amélie supplies the Fine de Claire and Spéciales de Claire oysters, selectively chosen with only 50 out of 1000 meeting the Amélie quality standard, honored internationally including at the Singapore Awards 2023. Bartender Alessio Gulino will craft a Martini cocktail twist to complement the oysters, infusing Tío Pepe Cherry, Antica Torino Bianco, yuzu bitters, and a saline solution, garnished with an oyster leaf. Flores Cócteles is open Tuesday to Sunday, from 19:00 to 02:00.

🌿 A special event exploring oyster and wine pairings took place at the Yacht Club Marina di Stabia in Naples. Daniele Testa and Alessio Cutino of the Associazione Italiana Ostricari (AIOST) hosted the evening, with resident chef Carlo Verde and sommelier Serena Iammarino crafting pairings. The spotlight was on pre-phylloxera wines, selected to highlight the intrinsic connection between oysters and their marine environment, as well as wine and its terroir. Italian, Irish, and French oysters were served with Campanian pre-phylloxera wines, demonstrating the diverse pairing possibilities beyond the classic champagne and oysters combination.

🏠 In Italy, 75%+ hotel rooms are already booked for Ognissanti, despite one less holiday day compared to 2023. Rome and Venice lead with 82% and 84% occupancy, followed by Milan at 78%, and Naples at 77%. Florence lags with 66%. Perugia and Matera boast 90% and 88%, matching last year's figures, while Verona confirms its 71% from 2023. The high-end market thrives, fueled by international tourists, notably Americans, British, French, and Germans.

🍝 Salone OFF Food Topic, part of Artissima 2024 in Turin, runs until November 9, featuring enogastronomic delights inspired by “daydreaming”. Chef Guests Christian Mandura and Andrea Turchi from Maison Capriccioli create a special dish: Sgombro, cavolo e alloro, priced at €30, available at their restaurant. This edition introduces mixology; cocktails like Ucronia and Nero Contrappunto cost €7.50 and €10, respectively. Desserts like Alice in Wonderland and Five balls in bagna cauda are offered for €7 and €8. The event aims to showcase Turin's culinary talents and connect food with art and culture.
