Finnair firma con Travelport l’accordo sui contenuti multi-fonte

✈ Travelport and Finnair strengthened their partnership with a multi-source content agreement including both New Distribution Capability (NDC) and traditional content. Customers of Travelport agencies now have access to Finnair's multi-source content, including ancillary services. The collaboration aims to enhance Finnair's NDC program and promote adoption among agencies, utilizing the Travelport+ platform. Korean Air, arriva il B787 Dreamliner sulla Seoul-Bangkok

🛫 Korean Air will deploy its first Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner on the Seoul-Bangkok route starting August 1, 2024, marking Thailand as the first Southeast Asian country served by this aircraft. Initially, the 787-10 will be used for 6 out of 28 weekly flights, increasing to 12 weekly flights from August 8. The Dreamliner's cabin features 325 seats in two classes, including 36 in business class with Prestige Suites 2.0, boasting fully reclining seats and enhanced personal space for passenger privacy.

Agosto italiano: mare protagonista, città d’arte in calo

🏖️ Confindustria Alberghi reported that Italian beach resorts saw bookings by locals rise by 1.5 percentage points and international bookings by 6.3 percentage points compared to 2023. Germany, Switzerland, and France lead the markets, with over 85% of rooms booked during the five weeks of August, and the third week being fully booked. Art cities like Venice, Rome, and Milan experience a decline in occupancy, with Venice at over 72%, then dropping to 65%, Rome starting at 70% and decreasing to 60% from August 12-31, and Milan at 60%, then reducing to 50% in the last three weeks of August.

Japan Airlines, nuovo ordine per Airbus

✈ Japan Airlines announced a deal with Airbus for 20 Airbus A350-900s and 11 Airbus A321neos. A350-900s, joining the fleet in March 2024, will serve domestic routes and from 2027 international routes to support network expansion. A321neos will debut in Jal and replace Boeing 767s on domestic flights from 2028. Aim: improving passenger experience and sustainability with a goal of zero emissions by 2050.

Klm, costi troppo alti: perdita d’esercizio di 31 milioni

Eurocity, da settembre collegamenti regolari per Svizzera e Germania

🏢 Eurocity connections to Switzerland and Germany will resume regular service from September. Line disruption in the Gotthard Tunnel since August 10, 2023, and the Simplon Tunnel since June 9, 2024, has caused current route limitations and suspensions. Travel from Milan to Zurich will take just over 3 hours this fall, with additional destinations including Geneva, Basel, Lucerne, Frankfurt, Bern, Lausanne, Lugano, Montreux in Switzerland, and Freiburg, Mannheim, Ringsheim, and Frankfurt in Germany. The Zurich-Bologna and Zurich-Genova Eurocity lines, with a weekend extension to Sestri Levante, will operate from September 2 to October 27. These services are provided by Trenitalia in collaboration with Swiss railway companies and include a partnership with German railways for connections to and from Frankfurt.
