🍷 Anita Neveu, an ex-cycling champion, produces wine in Reggio Emilia with Vino&Design. Neveu's 18 hectares are dedicated to Gamay, resulting in six different denominations: Beaujolais, Beaujolais Village, Morgon, Chénas, Fleurie, and Moulin à Vent. Her vineyards, some with vines aged 40-100 years, have earned a perfect 100/100 from James Suckling. After training in Beaune and Dijon, she founded her domaine in 2015, focusing on natural winemaking with spontaneous fermentations in concrete tanks. Vino & Design, founded in 1999 and based in Reggio Emilia, added Neveu's wines to their prestigious catalog.

Indagine IIAS: nove italiani su dieci non rinunciano alle patate surgelate

🥔 Over 1 billion people consume potatoes worldwide, with a global production surpassing 300 million tons. Italians, ranking fifth in highest potato consumption at their tables, consumed about 110,500 tons of frozen potatoes in 2023, an 8% increase from 2022's 102,400 tons. IIAS (Istituto Italiano Alimenti Surgelati) revealed these figures, supported by AstraRicerche. More than 90% of Italians eat frozen potatoes: 42.9% weekly, 30% 1-3 times a month, 18% less than monthly. Men and families with children, especially from Gen Z, Y, and X, are the largest consumers. Over 82% of parents view frozen potatoes as a culinary wildcard due to their versatility in preparation and shapes. The preferred pairing for 56.4% of consumers is with chicken, especially roast chicken among Baby Boomers. Frozen potatoes are mostly consumed at home (64.8%) but also outside (15.8%), highlighting their market strength in Italy. Despite misconceptions, frozen potatoes retain nutritional properties identical to fresh ones thanks to industrial quick-freezing that preserves their biological structure.

💱 Italy-China commercial exchange hit €73.9 billion in 2022, with Italian exports at a record €16.4 billion and imports at €57.5 billion. In the first eight months of 2023, trade was around €45.7 billion, down 7.9% from 2022, due to an 18% drop in Chinese exports to Italy. However, Italian exports to China increased 30% to €13.6 billion. On October 11, 2024, China will require EU spirit importers to retain deposits for anti-dumping duties in response to EU's definitive compensatory duties on Chinese electric vehicles. China imported 43.31 million liters of brandy in 2023.

Whisky: la nuova frontiera della distillazione italiana

🥃 Italian distilleries of whisky have grown from 1 to nearly 20 in less than a decade, with "Il Signor Camillo" and "Florentis" being notable examples featured during the Whisky Week Veneto, marking Whisky Club Italia's 10th anniversary. "Il Signor Camillo" by Mulino di Sassello in Savona, led by Master Distiller Diego, will launch its whisky in 2025 after maturing in French oak barrels, while "Florentis" from Florence is characterized by Super Tuscan and Vinsanto wine barrel aging. Strada Ferrata in Seregno will release its inaugural whisky priced at €79 on October 12, and aims to create single cask releases and expand distribution by 2027-2028.

Controlli NAS Livorno: ispezioni nel settore alimentare e ristorazione
