Burger King apre un nuovo ristorante a Milano

🍔 A new Burger King opens in Milan on November 30 at Viale Corsica n. 91, the ninth directly owned store in the city and 93rd in Italy. The restaurant employs 25 staff, covers 228sqm with 30 indoor seats, and introduces table ordering via QR code and a "Be The King" loyalty program. Burger King Italy continues its growth with 283 restaurants nationwide, 34 opened in 2023 alone, serving over 20 million Italians annually. Founded in 1954, Burger King operates over 18,700 locations in 100+ countries, and QSRP, its parent company in Italy, oversees over 1,200 European restaurants generating €1.4 billion in turnover.

☕ US Department of Agriculture revised Brazil's coffee production for 2024/25 downwards by 6% for arabica (from 48.2 to 45.5 million bags) and 3% for robusta (from 21.7 to 21 million bags), and Indonesia's robusta by 8% (from 9.5 to 8.6 million bags), adjusting the production increase from +40% to +36%. Colombian production increased from 12.4 to 12.9 million bags, Indian from 6 to 6.2 million bags. Financial coffee prices rose sharply since November; arabica by 28% and robusta by 21%, with year-to-date increases of 64% and 72%, respectively. TTF gas prices grew by 20% since early November, surpassing 45 €/MWh, a year-to-date increase of 69%, while Italy's electricity pricing index (PUN) rose by 40%. EU gas demand in October reached 244,827 GWh, a 30% increase from September and 7% from October 2023.

Eurochocolate chiude una trentesima edizione da record

🍫 Eurochocolate's 30th anniversary edition in Perugia's historic center drew hundreds of thousands of visitors. A survey of 980 visitors showed 100% would recommend the event, 56% were repeat attendees, 95% plan to return, with 83% rating it "very good" and 14% "good". Over 120 workers dismantled the event in just over 24 hours. The Chocolate Show featured 170 companies and 5,500 chocolate varieties, with some small producers earning over €300,000. Social media saw 7.737 million views and 212,000 interactions on Facebook, with nearly 2 million accounts reached on Instagram.

Probios, established in 1978 and located in Calenzano near Florence, operates in 47 countries and recently acquired Biotobio in July 2024.

Al via l'iter per realizzare vino dealcolizzato in Italia

🍷 Italian Agriculture Minister Francesco Lollobrigida recently presented the 'Dealcolizzati' ministerial decree draft, regulating production of Nolo (no and low alcohol) wines in Italy. Unione Italiana Vini (UIV) appreciates the detailed legal framework, aligning with European competitors three years post EU regulation and opening new market opportunities. The decree defines dealcoholized wines (max 0.5% alcohol) and partially dealcoholized wines (above 0.5% but below 8.5%/9%), with strict labeling, production, and de-alcoholization process guidelines. UIV suggests improvements and urges rapid approval before the upcoming Christmas.

Al MUMAC la Prima Diffusa 2024 del Teatro alla Scala

🎭 MUMAC, part of the Cimbali Group, hosts the seventh edition of "Prima Diffusa" in collaboration with Comune di Milano, Edison, and Teatro alla Scala, featuring over 30 events in Milan and its metropolitan areas. The initiative aims to make the opera "La forza del destino" by Giuseppe Verdi, first performed in 1862 in St. Petersburg and at La Scala in 1869, accessible to a wider audience. It will be conducted by Maestro Riccardo Chailly and directed by Leo Muscato, inaugurating the 2024/2025 Opera and Ballet season. The event includes an introduction by music historian Marco Targa and requires pre-booking at mumac.it. Opera begins at 18:00, with museum doors opening at 17:00 for accreditation.

A survey by WTH involving hundreds of professionals shows 54% of wineries struggle with hiring and retaining staff, 35% have difficulty motivating and retaining workers due to seasonal contracts and limited career prospects, and 43% cite staff management as a major sector challenge. The portal, operational from early 2025, aims to ease the recruitment process for enotourism roles.
